Let us organize the new imvu display?

Hi! I feel like a lot of my classic client veteran friends here don't want to learn the new imvu app because it's literally like relearning a whole new app, compared to what they're comfortable with already accomplishing on classic. They know where everything is on classic, compared to feeling completely lost on the new app and having to take time and energy to figure it out. The ones who've tried explained to me they felt very overwhelmed with the changes and stressed out and ran back to comfy classic. Literally what I went through when I first tried, but it wasn't until chatting with the new users in the welcome rooms while greeting did I learn that most of the new generation of members actually prefer this over classic, so that pushed me to learn to get comfortable with it, since the future members are going to be my future customers and friends.

I do hate the idea of leaving all my old friends behind and feel maybe there's a way to help them out while encouraging future members to have a better experience once they are comfortable, because everyone always wants more eventually anyways and they grow.

Imvu's classic website has a feature where we can organize where our profile homepage categories appear, fonts, and colors. I feel like it would be moving forward if we could have flexibility like that with the new imvu apps.

This way, staff wouldn't have to do research or guess which display most people are comfy with, hand that task over to members so everyone would be happy, instead of picking who to please. More personalization and connection to our accounts.

@YutakaSuzuki  This is what imvu's been doing so far, but the tech used to make classic is very old and eventually will not be compatible with Window's future updates.

I think of it like a horse. We love it, take care of it, research the best nutrition/medicine/care we can give it, but eventually when a car comes out, a horse just cannot match it's speed. If we really like the horse, best we can do is keep it in an area (don't upgrade our Windows) or structure the new "car" to look and function the way our horse did, but it will have the mechanics of a car still so it can function on the future Window's updates.

Furthermore, "classic" doesn't even look like "classic". It has also had many makeovers over the past 15 or so years I've been here. I think the only difference is that the new app took just a big leap of a change instead of a smooth transition, and to make room for the new video enhancement features, it had to sacrifice a lot of features we were using. I'm still struggling to not rely on classic myself, this is a very big jump... BUT many veterans were complaining how there aren't a lot of new users growing in the community. After speaking to many new users, I feel like imvu actually did the research and structured the new app to appeal to the new generation, so I don't want to force them to use classic, as well as understand that the old technology used to make classic doesn't have a future in Windows... trust me, if it did, no business would waste money in trashing it.

I also don't see a point in keeping the old technology if the new technology can replicate it the same sensation of it. I don't think it's a question in the old program itself, just how they're using the new one.

For one, I don't like how they're wasting video technology in the text chat. In classic, I was able to minimize the 3D avatar room to only show Text Chat, and that would use up much less computer strength, even allows me to survive a chatroom while trolls are purposely doing tricks to try to make everyone crash, and even watch videos in another browser. This tells me that the new app is structured to be really heavy in places that's not needed and might explain why they had to sacrifice many features. I know a lot of these features we're use to went right over the heads of many users, so I'm not really surprised they didn't make the cut. I'm sure they used messages to ask us to vote on which features we were using the most, and as I'm sure we know, most people ignore those messages so their input was never included until after the fact and they complain, asking staff to go back...

To Diamond Bones,

People Asked For The IMVU Classic Back, Because They Just Prefer It More,
They Like It More, & Don't Like The New Desktop APP...

Here Is My Problem:

Why Make Both APP's The Same?

When Their Both On The Computer Already...

They Already Have A Desktop BETA APP,
Why Not Just Let That Use The New Service
For New Customers...

& Allow The Classic To Stay Classic For
All Us Veteran Customers??

The Answer Is:

IMVU Staff Wants Everything Universally
To Be More Geared Twards Newer Younger
Generations, & We Veterans Don't Matter...

But More Importantly, Bugs Constantly Exist
In New Developments & New Updates...

The Classic APP Didn't Have Any Bugs At All,
& Now Due To Updates Is Also Has Bugs Now...

I Fully Understand If IMVU Staff Wants
Next, Mobile, & Desktop To Universally
Connect For The New Generation...

But IMVU Has 2 Desktop APP's Now,
Why Do Both Need To Be The Same,
Especially When Next Already Exists...

That Doesn't Make Any Sense To Me At All...

I Just Somehow Believe This Has Nothing To Do
With The Newer Generation & Univerally Making
Everything Run The Same...

I Feel More Like This Is Just Being Done,
Because Somehow For Whatever Reason,
The IMVU Staff Randomly Out Of Nowhere
One Day Got Ill, & Started Exerting Such
Poor Behavioral Skills...

& Ummm... I Don't Seem To Understand Where
Any Of This Is Coming From, Nor Does Anyone
Else...

I Never Ever Said Young Newer People Can't Use
IMVU, & Never Suggested They Had To Use The Same
Client, & Run The Same Client As We Veterans Do,
The Only Thing I Ever Said Was That I Specifically
Will Never Do Mobile, Social Network, Nor Portable
Manipulative Controlling Psychopathic Degrading
Products...

If New Customers Are To Be Born On That Life Style, Fine,
But Why Am I Forced To Live That Life Style, Too??

As A Greeter,
Your Job Is Not To Dictate What Product One Uses At All,
All Your Job Is, Is To Understand The People Your Greeting,
& Also Understand, How To Apply A Greeting To Them When
They Arrive For The First Time...

New People Join, & Are Different From Us, & That's Fine,
If We Join, & Are Different From Them, That Should Also Be Fine...

Acting As If I Am A Millennial Or A Gen Z, When I Am Not,
Is Not Any Form Of Solution To The Problems In 2025 For Anyone On Earth...

The Obvious Solution Is To Just Learn Who Your Engaging With,
& Learn How To Engage Them, & Their Generation Shouldn't Matter...

Sooooo, Downloading IMVU BETA Desktop, & Learning How It Works,
So That You Can Communicate It Better For Those Who Are Newcommers,
Is Fine...

But There Is No Reason We Should Dump The Classic Client
For Those Who Are Veterans, Just Simply Cause Gen Z Or Millenials
Showed Up On IMVU Randomly Out Of Nowhere...

In Fact, I Don't See Why We Can't Have Both,
If Younger & Veterans Are Gonna Get Along Together, Anyways...

Anyone Disagree With Me?? o___O

To be honest, I just can't give up on IMVU Classic. I first discovered IMVU when I was 19, and now I am 37. It has truly become a part of my life, and I have been creating products through the Classic app ever since. However, the truth is that the IMVU Studio program is genuinely the best; it is incredibly successful and professionally designed. It deserves praise and recognition a million times over. I am doing my best to adapt to it. I want to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to the entire IMVU management for bringing us together on such a wonderful platform. You are wonderful people! ♥
