So I'm curious what I am doing wrong, of if I'm not doing anything wrong.
I made a leather jacket, put in a minimal shine, which looks great in the normal gray room IMVU gave us to create in, but then I try it in some other rooms and it's just super bright.
It's the same deal when I made a white shirt. This time I put the normal map, but full black on the shininess map and set the fresnal reflection to 0. Yet in that other room it gets very bright. Same when I see the jacket or shirt in a withmoji.
Is it just the room? Too many omni lights set too high? Or the derivable I'm using? Or something I should do differently?
I don't want to use self-illuminate because then I feel you go into a dark room and the jacket or shirt will be all bright.
Any tips?

Yeah I appreciate that, but I'm trying to avoid that.
The problem I'm having is that when I turn that on, and let's say I made a white shirt, suddenly I go into a dark room and my shirt is just glowing bright because it's not using any of the room's lighting.
After how many other discussions many just said I'm at the mercy of the room, and of course light colors are going to get bright like that. So the best bet for me was just simply to deal with it as it is.

To fix this edit your product and then look for this panel.. You'll want to uncheck the option "Self illuminated". Hope this helps
