Can't transfer credits? No need to worry, this is just temporary.

As a way to protect the community, IMVU has implemented a credit transfer limit for the following instances:

  • new accounts
  • accounts that have recently purchased credits
  • accounts that have recently changed email addresses
  • accounts that have had several credit transfers within a short span of time
  • accounts whose email addresses are not verified (sender and recipient)

Consider the following scenario...

If a scammer was to suddenly take over your account and change the email address, they can immediately access all your funds and transfer the credits into their own account! Also, if you have a large credit balance and some scammer decides to distribute your wealth into several of his (or his friends') accounts, you would have been defenseless. Such actions could easily threaten the stability of the IMVU community.

To protect your account in the case of take overs, we implemented the transfer limit. This way, if ever someone else gets into your account, they will not be able to take away the credits you already have by transferring them into a different avatar.

Though we cannot define a specific time frame for the hold on transfers, rest assured that it will not last too long. You will have more than sufficient time to still notify us if you lost your account, so we can track it down and give it back to you. If it's legitimately you behind the transfer attempt, you can always try transferring again at a later time.

In case you need further help, or if you are not covered by the above-mentioned reasons, you can always contact us by filing a ticket
