How Do I Submit a Themed Room?

Do you have a room you are proud of and would like to showcase to the whole IMVU Community? You may now do so by submitting it to our Themed Rooms!

How do I get my room into Themed Rooms?

First off, the capability to submit a room to the Themed Room selection will only be available on IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) version 493.14 and up (you may check your client version by clicking on Settings). Only users that have been on IMVU for at least 1 month can submit a Themed Room.

Additionally, we ensure all eligible users have a chance to showcase their rooms in the Themes section. As such we limit the number of rooms a room owner can have in themes to two.

Rooms that are submitted into Themed Rooms undergo a strict selection criteria:

The Room must be GA-appropriate (read: no AP rooms!)
The Room should be of very high aesthetic quality
The Room should fit the category it was submitted for
The Room should not have any Room Access Controls (i.e., it should be set to Public)
The Room should have a tasteful collection of decors and furniture
The Room should be easy to navigate
The Room name, image and description should be appropriate and should represent the Room well.

How to Submit a Room

STEP 1. Using IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) 493.14, go into any room that you own (Note: You will not be able to submit another person’s room). You will see an option to Submit to Themes.

STEP 2. Select the theme you would like to submit your room into, then click Continue to take photo.

STEP 3. You will be asked to take a picture of your room. Make sure to take a snapshot that showcases your room at its best - the submission process has a newly added high-resolution camera tool just for this purpose! Any avatars that will be captured in the shot will automatically be excluded from the final photo. After taking the shot, you will be able to either take another picture or go through with the submission.

Note as well that this picture will replace your current room image.

STEP 4. After hitting submit, you will be shown the following message:

It’s that easy! You will be notified via message once the room gets chosen. In case it does not, you will get a message of the decline reason. Please note that the room will automatically be removed from Themes in case any changes in the room image, description, name or access controls are made.
