I'm Polystyrene (call me Poly if you like) and I'm a creator here on IMVU. I live in Brisbane, Australia, with my partner and three pet rats. I'm coming up to my 17th year on IMVU and I have been creating products for nearly all of that time. I started off just deriving and texturing other people's products but after a few years I wanted to be able to create my own meshes from scratch. I began making simple furniture and accessory meshes with Sketchup, but soon transitioned to 3D Studio Max with the help of my good friend, SecondHarvest. I didn't have any prior experience with 3D design so was learning and practising as I went. After a lot of hard work my hobby became a business which grew and grew until I was eventually earning enough to live on.
I enjoy creating products that are not too serious and encourage people to have fun and be a bit silly. My favourite products to make are ones that include animation. I like being able to interact with things, it makes products a lot more fun. One of my first meshes was a giant rubber duck that you can ride. I've made things like a boat made out of a sausage, a heart that you fart out, and a log that you can hold and cuddle. I do also make more 'normal' products, like clothing, shoes and accessories.
One of the best parts of being a mesher is seeing what other creators do with your products. There are a lot of amazingly talented texturers in the IMVU community that make my products look so much better than I ever could! I love seeing people having fun with my meshes and I still get excited to see people using products derived from them.
Creator tips:
Be patient. It takes a lot of time and work to build up a successful creating business.
Don't use brand names or logos. You will be ineligible for the Earn Money program if IMVU find such products in your catalogue, plus you are risking your account.
Be willing to change as IMVU grows and changes

Hey Polly I am also a Brisbane girl as you can most probably tell with my name and I am a creater and learning still do the fashion which I am slowly getting there and I have started off deriving and changing textures to for my own sake.
I come on here just to create which I enjoy. If I come a across mask that I can change into something myself then I will do it.
I have been on IMVU now for a little over 11 years.
