Greetings from Estonia which is a small country in Northern Europe. My name is Tarmo, and main IMVU avatar name is ChicByTrinity (often called either Chic or Trinity among friends) who's also my model character for my IMVU products.
I have had creative urges throughout my entire life. Now I make (compose, produce) music since 1993, and in 2009 I discovered IMVU.
At first I explored IMVU shop and rooms, I didn't create anything significant until July 2011 when I started making avatar skins for women. I had some prior Photoshop experience for this texture work.
At first I created skins for my model Trinity only, but to my surprise many other people started wanting the skins that I create.
This was not all, not enough. I started learning 3DS Max in early August 2011 with the help of IMVU Creator education resources and YouTube video tutorials. It was not easy, many days filled with trying, messing it up, trying again, until a couple of weeks later I figured it out. The rest is history.
I have been creating realistic rooms and furniture since August 2011. Real-life look and feel is my primary goal, as much as it is possible with the tools available.
Unexpectedly, all this fun turned out to be my actual income to support my life and household. I have been my own boss, I don't have to "go to work", this has given me lots of freedom. For this I am truly grateful!
Creator Tips
Always use proper texture sizes and ratios like 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 pixels, always multiplied and divided by 2. Do not go larger than 512x512 pixels. If you just add a random texture that you downloaded, it may be huge (1000-2000 pixels) and pump up the product size/KBs for no reason, even making the texture look worse than 512x512 pixels and below would look like.
Whenever you buy or download textures for your IMVU creations, make sure they're not copyrighted or stolen from other creators! This is very important. Keep your account in a good standing.

I've a Chic Skin girl... always have been. And I have alot of his rooms too, they are the most realistic rooms and beautiful. Besides being a wonderful creator here, he's a friend and the most interesting person around. Congratulations Chic!!

That's it...I've become so inspired by her self-taught story that I'm going to download Blender and learn to do meshing. Hopefully one day I make something as amazing as what ChicByTrinity makes.

Amazing rooms. I'm a basic dev .using the new beta system no classic at all. And that's complicated enough im in awe of the world's you gave built.theres imvu dev noobs like me and devd and creators and the 1% goddesses and gods .what you create looks limposdible to a mere mortal . That said amazing and proof of follow the steps as shortcuts [ I've tried] Don't wok.
