SOFT GIRL
The Soft Girl aesthetic includes nostalgia from Y2K and the 90s, but hyper-focuses on femininity. You’ll see denim and fluffy pastel sweaters like in our look book below.
You’ll also come across frilly hems, cropped cardigans, plaids, fluffy skirts and pleats. You can pair your look with sneakers and socks or feminine boots. Again, pastels and playful patterns are the dominant choices.
Accessories include retro bucket hats, beaded necklaces, baguette bags and barrettes.

Where some users might think these styles or trends are lame so many do not! My catalog is geared to the fashion trend lovers. Street wear to down town chic.. But then again I have made a brand for myself on the backs of fashion trends. I usually don't see a picture and go ooo I want to rip off that look today... I get most of my ideas from meshes I see the mesh and think of all the fashionable things I can make with it. Just as a fashion designer picks up a pen and paper I pick up a mesh. It just helps that I live in Vegas and have access to see all the new things folks are wearing these days. This is why I say some of these looks are tricksty we just don't have the meshes to hold them. Maybe we should look more toward the meshes we are provided.. Start a thread for new trend setter meshers. So we can see them as they come out instead of having to hunt and peck for them all over the catalog. Give meshers incentives for different categories. IDK but after all! Meshes are where the imvu trend are started not the streets. I have been seeing alot of y2k this year as well as gothic making a little bit of a starter comeback. alot of long and flowy dresses even dresses for everyday wear seem dag the ground long, striped out and flowered out. This year seems to be more hodge podge then I have seen in years past. Some of those old vintage 50's trends seem to be knocking on our doors with all their whimsical colors.. Iam kind of embracing the Hodge podge of it all and cant wait to rock some 50's summer swim suits this year. I already have some meshes in mind from Wiing.

I'm glad you're positive. I'm not too sure what's guiding IMVU's art theme at this point. Reality TV? Are we stuck in Meet the Kardashians?
I feel under assault. IMVU used to be a place where Ninjas, Robots, Aliens, and Furries felt welcome. It said so on the home screen! Now it feels like imaginative people are banned. I saw more then a few chatrooms full of people who seemed frightened at self expression. Just dressed up like models, hardly saying anything, afraid to speak, afraid to be. I asked them, "Where are all my MONSTERS at?", and suddenly two of them felt comfortable enough to show off their inner beasties. Got an Angel and Demon, oddly enough.
It's like the oppression of the real-world slipping into the imaginative one.
