Our latest Quarterly Creator Report shows that, collectively, your sales and earnings are still soft. This is a reflection of overall trends in the gaming industry. Record inflation, high gas prices and general economic concerns are leaving people cautious about spending on non-essentials. In addition, people are entering public spaces again.
Our team is highly focused on addressing the tough situation by testing more innovative ways to reach new audiences.
We’re also making IMVU more interactive and engaging so that our current community spends more time having fun and shopping.
For instance, starting in November we’ve got a brand new campaign coming up that all users can play - stay tuned for an announcement! These interactive games will continue into 2023, too!
We will also be running IMVU’s yearly ‘Celebrating Small Businesses’ weekend, where Creators (and now Producers!) can chat with their buying audience in their own Showrooms.
Last but not least, our product team is working on some exciting new capabilities that will allow users to do even more in IMVU rooms! We can’t wait to show you what we’ve got in store!
So rest assured, we are paying attention and giving it our all. IMVU has weathered downward trends before and we are confident that with the holiday season coming up, and with our exciting new initiatives, people will start spending more time celebrating on IMVU. Hang in there. We will make it through together!

100% agreed with you. I like to add to that. Al the Music that is in my shop, my husband made on Music creation software so everything is copyrighted to him and I am the only authorized distributor of his music. All that trigger music ( he cut himself for me to upload) will basically finish and I lose all the credits I invested in uploading them in the first place. I am sure there are a few people out there that cut music that has used similar Software to make and remix music that is copyrighted to them and share them on IMVU just to put the music out there.
If you ( IMVU ) take the music completely away you literally lose almost half your community. partly because the ones that listen to the music and the rest because they spin, DJ and ore have entertainment rooms. Next, you will also lose the Models and creators alike who work with agencies that help creators get their stuff out there by putting on fashion shows and other fun music events, oh wait there goes the Music. You advertised VCoins, if memory serves me right, as a way for people to get paid for the services they provide which let's face it also includes DJ's. Now you want to throw them under the bus. A bad business decision all the way around.
I am all about Copyright Law so I get where you coming from ( I have some of my own personal Artwork in miniature in my shop that people can hang in their rooms). I would not someone sell them off either so I get it. At least find a way to keep the music. In classic, there have to be at least 2 people in the room to use the Playlist ( no longer available in next or Beta ) we paid a lot of money to buy that music in the IMVU music shop. I for one refuse Desktop Beta for that reason and stick with Classic because you are not gone pay me all that Cash that I spend in the Music shop back. There goes more of the Community, especially the ones that have been around for 5+ years and have Playlists saved. As a creator, it would hurt my shop since I work with a Modle Agency and like so many other creators and music is part of the Fashion Industry. We make the IMVU world Spin around and Music is part of that. Take that part away and IMVU will slowly but surely become a thing of the past that no one will remember.

Furthermore and taking away even more from this report's validity, just like during the COVID pandemic, as gas prices go through the roof, people go out less, and they stay in more, hence more time to play here, so instead of being affected severely by the economy, you are in the position to capture a market that has no place to go, wants to find ways to cope, and you have a lot more to gain than to lose by those economic factors because when it comes to spending entertainment bucks here, considering the cost of different types of entertainment, this is a very affordable way to keep occupied, entertained and happy. So, I don't think economic factors are as applicable in this business as bad business decisions. The ball is in IMVU's court.

And for the HUGE elephant in the room, the MAIN reason why your sales have come down and your creating as well is because of the sudden resurge to fail trigger music. Many people like it here JUST FOR THAT. Yes, we don't need an NFT and we don't need virtual clothes. Some people do dress in real too. I did not want to bring this up, because it draws attention to me, but, I have been a victim of this attack. I even was reported by someone and the funny thing is that the artist who made that song, I happen TO PERSONALLY KNOW, and he would grant me permission to use it, but it's not worth the aggravation. So people stopped cutting music, and other people stopped buying it. While I do understand the copyright issues that you claim are involved, I see shorter than 20 sec. triggers as FAIR USE, more than infringement. And if it is an infringement, why does YOUTUBE even exist ???? Because most songs are posted there by non-copyright holders. Additionally you do not have a fair policy of passing or failing people, you choose to play look here not there, and some people pass, others do not, so, this will affect the business BIG TIME. If you take the music away, people will leave in droves. You will cease to exist. Sometimes with new technology we refuse to adapt to the challenges they present, but censorship is never the answer, especially when it's not applied equally. Yes, I have a Masters in Business. So even though I don't have the data for your analysis, I do know how to conduct a SWAT analysis. If you lose the music, you lose the particles sales, the lights sales, the rooms to spin, and people will gravitate to other places that allow this. I would say this is the MAIN reason why sales are down. There is a HUGE DJ community here, and many have even left and gone to other games because they do not feel supported.

Thank you for this quarterly report. I see other trends and reasons why you may be getting less creators creating. I think more than the economy, which is big issue, one of the challenges is present by your decision to disable older meshers. I have been on the bad receiving end of this idea, having to pay more, because I have to find someone else that WRONGFULLY, made their derivation derivable, or be out of luck. I don't think that is as good of an idea, as you do. We used to have a lot of very creative and capable people that made great stuff, and we all used to love to derive from them, and now we can't. These people provided sample textures, etc... and the people now, provide less and it becomes more challenging altogether. So people get turned off. You may not like to hear this, but talent is currently lacking. I think it would serve ALL OF US best, if you reversed that decision, and we just dev off the products that were good, while avoiding the bad. I know I will never be able to learn blender or other aps so I depend on these talented people's skills, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
