I have a tutorial that explains how to make a "text file" and add it to the furniture Skeleton in Classic. It is easily adaptable to MAC.
Basically... You make a text file and add some text to it. The file must be named correctly. Adding it to the Studio Skeleton is not hard. Click Skeleton on the Left and the Drop Down on Asset on the right. Add your text file.
Go to this page HERE and slide down about halfway. See the "Creator's Notes" portion to make the .XSF File (text file) on a Windows machine. You can transpose the info to Mac fairly easily.
Hope this helps...

You basically have to replace the default skeleton used by the furniture item to override what's there - for example create a 'root only' skeleton in Blender, export that and then import into Studio/Classic.
