I thought this issue was fixed awhile ago. I can't set an attachment to male that was derived from a female item. It still forces itself back to female when I try to use it in IMVU desktop.
But there still seems to be a systemic issue about how gender is handled. We've always set the compatibility manually in the Editor, but all IMVU+ things don't seem to look at what the pre-set gender compatibility is... it instead looks at what the item was derived from. That's going to be a reoccurring issue with 2 decades of user creations across, what, something like 10 million items? It seems like a snowballing minor oversight with big consequences.
For instance, quite a few developers have left over the years due to some unpleasant policies that have hurt our earnings over the last 8 years. They aren't around to edit their items any more. That could be thousands, if not 10's of thousands, of items that can't be used in IMVU+ platforms because of how they're derived. These are items that all work fine under IMVU Classic, because it obeys the gender compatibility setting.

@MaxSMoke777, Problem solved. The issue is:
The product is derived a male product
It is categorized as Female. Specifically: 'Clothing > Clothing for Female > Female Accessories > New Accessories'. This seems like it could only have occurred when it was submitted from Classic Client with 'Submit to any Category' turned on.
It was edited and resubmitted from Studio where the 'Compatibility' was changed from the default 'Unisex' to 'Male' where gender is now enforced if specified.
Because there is a mismatch of category and gender it fails to load and tries to switch avatar gender.
The solution is to edit the product in Classic Client and resubmit it and change the category to a male clothing category. Specifically, 'Catalog > Clothing for Male > Male Accessories' or a subcategory.

Thanks! I've often have issues with Male template in 3D Studio Max, so all items are made with the female and then fitted to the male. in IMVU "Classic", when you set the gender compatibility, it remains set. It doesn't matter what you derive from. The new ones should do the same, for the sake of not derailing 20 years of product development, across the entire platform.

@MaxSMoke777 I am not sure what is going on with this PID. The parent PID is a bit odd and is not one the standard male accessory (attachment) base PIDs (669, 11106472). I will have to do some investigation and ask around.
