IMVU has always allowed people to switch out skins, even on body part replacements, so the human skins match the rest of the body when changing clothing.

But with IMVU+ it can't seem to handle also changing out the reflection maps, normals, emissions for those body parts. Those are all set by the clothing that replaces that body part. So advanced skins getting sold with special effects just vanish when the clothing replaces that body part. Only the Diffuse texture remains.

Can this get fixed? I was thinking maybe it was just a limitation of video game art, but thinking about it a little more, there's no reason it should be a limitation. If you replace one type of texture (the Diffuse map), then swapping out another like Reflection or Normal should be just as easy.

It's like that part of the game is stuck in the old, one-texture situation, so it ignores all of the new ones.

Hey @MaxSMoke777 , This is absolutely on the list! Not sure of the timing. The issue is complicated because of 'Skin Composite'. There is a merging of materials when it comes to anything using skin composite or material id 7 and it is the base material that governs all of the material settings including IMVU+ features. If I am correct, when you are viewing just the base avatar 80, 191, the skin product is considered the base skin material and displays correctly, but when any other product is worn that has a skin material then that becomes the base material and controls all of the material features. It has been awhile since I investigated this.
