@quixotickane, Like @MightySe7en says, you cannot use your own avatar in the Studio generated shop images. You can take a screenshot using the Snapshot tool in Studio and then make and upload a custom classic shop icon that will show on the product page. This is what a lot of creators do.

Those images are currently only able to be the white and grey mannequins at this time

THANKS! that did work, however it did not change the avatar in the photos that studio generates for the catalog. that's where i'm having an issue.

Hi @quixotickane, Are you referring to this?
The same thing can be done in Studio by going to the 'Info' tab and for 'Compatibility' click on the 'Female' and from the dropdown select 'Custom' and in the box type the avatar PID you want to use.
If you have the avatar in your inventory you can also go to the 'Inventory' tab on the right and filter on 'Avatars' and then select an avatar from your inventory.

i make clothing for the curvacious lolita avatar. in studio, the avatar is the regular avi. i can change it in my preview, as part of what the avatar is wearing, but the icon pic/ legacy photo is still the regular avatar, and this makes clipping in the photo.
in the client while in create mode, you can put the number of the avatar shape under the config tab, under skeleton varibles. i dont see how to do this in the client.

Hi @quixotickane,
If you just mean the avatar in the viewport of studio, this can be changed in the Inventory tab on the right. you can click the filter button to sort by looks, rooms, or any other type of product.
Im not sure exactly what you mean by legacy photos though
