I wasn't too sure before, I thought I might be seeing things, but I was working on a VERY hefty file, having to save and reload it, and the file definitely increased in size... every time I edited! REGARDLESS of what was, or wasn't, done to the file. It just slowly increases in size for no reason.
I was working on the new IMVU VIP Unicorn, and the file just barely scraped under the size limit. I had to remove some materials, but it finally uploaded. Then I noticed a transparent material *mysteriously* changed it's opacity from Composite to Alpha in Desktop (this is another bug that REALLY needs to get fixed!). When I went back in and changed this ONE SETTING... the file was too large. I had to remove a Normal map I really wanted to keep, just to get it to upload again.
From the information I can recall, I think the file increased by around 50k just by reopening it.
