2 Eyebrow Glitches

  1. Changes in the opacity map do not show unless the diffuse texture is changed as well.
  2. If I use a diffuse texture that was previously used, the opacity map also switches back to the one that I used with that diffuse texture earlier.

Detailed explanation: The first preview works well. The glitches occur from the second preview and on. I left the diffuse texture as it is (a black square), changed the opacity map, hit preview, but no changes were shown. So I changed the diffuse texture to a brown square, hit preview, then it worked. As I tested out different opacity maps, I had to keep changing the diffuse texture to random textures just to make the preview work.

Later on, I ran out of random textures, so I used the black square in the assets that I used earlier. But then the opacity map switched back to the old one that I used with that black square. I changed the opacity map to the newest one again but the changes were not shown in the preview.

I would appreciate the fix.

Thank you.

Grrr. May I test with your PID you are deriving? I would like to reproduce it with you. If okay... Send it to me in a PM if you don't want to make it public :)

@Drosselmeyer I am deriving from https://ko.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=25812143 . But I also get a lot of "Oops" errors that you mentioned. I suppose the glitch is occurring across all brow items. And yes, the issue is consistently reproducible for me. I'll be waiting for the new update. Thanks!

Hello, the issue persists when I close and reopen the project. I tried it multiple times but it never seemed to fix the glitch :(

Being on the backbone can have it's advantages and disadvantages. LOL

Set your Network adapter speed to minimum and half duplex and try again.

Most will let you set them down to like 10Mbps

Ethernet AdtrThis may possibly emulate server lag :)

Yes, I just spent some time trying to reproduce this and could not get it to happen, very sad. These are the worst kinds of bugs... intermittent. Maybe server related..dunno.

It is very random. I *think* (guess) it may happen with a Server Lag... :/

@Insoo and @LestatDeLioncourt So, Interestingly, I encountered the issue as Insoo described it yesterday while working on another project. I will investigate and see if I can come up with a consistent repro.

HI @Drosselmeyer "consistently" is a tricky one. I did this yesterday and sent the report. I changed a material with one of mine. It was the wrong material to change. I meant to change a different material and wanted to put it back to the parent products inherited one. The oops error occurred and as you say nothing else updated until I saved, closed and reopened.

@Insoo I tried deriving from the PID I believe you are deriving from (48770393) and I was not able to reproduce this, however I did at one point get an "Oops" error that seemed to appear very briefly after I chose one of the inherited textures for the diffuse. From then on nothing seemed to update after a preview. Neither the diffuse or opacity maps. The "Oops" error is something we are working on a fix for and should be in the next release. This could be the issue. I would be curious to know you answer to @LestatDeLioncourt question too and whether this issue is consistently reproducible.

Hi @Insoo I am just curious, if you save your project, close Studio and reopen it, what happens?

:) The reason I ask is many times I close and reopen. It seems to fix weird glitches after I have been

working on the project for a while.
