The shine was working perfectly fine for a month at least but now the sucker band shows as grey. Its really weird the texture sizes and everything is different when you look at it in classic compared to studio (no gray band). And there is a bunch of extra everything in studio. Its a mess. I just want the sucker band to show the true color. I don't know what to do. I need to go back and resize the textures in studio but they seem fine in classic. I tried a bunch of things but its not changing.
The icon depicts the original shine and texture.
I dunno if I should just hide it or what. I made a bunch of outfits with this sucker avatar as well. :/
@Drosselmeyer Thanks for looking into it. I will look into the blending mode on both and see if that's a conflict that I can fix.
I didn't think you could make an avatar from a hand held product. I thought that avatars have to have an avatar base.

Hi @BunnyCakes, I have taken a look at this and there are a few peculiarities with the original mesh. First off the adding of the lollipop to an avatar product is maybe not the best way to do this. Having the lollipop as an accessory would probably be better. Though I realize that you are just using an existing product and it comes with the pose. But the fact that lollipop is part of the product may be complicating why the textures are not working properly. Not sure. The next thing is that the original textures are huge and non-power of 2 sizes. The diffuse maps are 300x300 and the opacity maps 250x250 and 1400x1000. Because they are non-power of 2 and/or larger than the maximum allowable texture size, they will get resized. Lastly, the transparency mode for the candy and the candy ring are both set to 'Use Blending' (Classic) / Transparency Mode: Composite Blend (Studio). This mode will definitely have issues within just the lollipop and may also have issues with clothing the avatar is wearing if the clothing also uses this transparency mode. It looks like in your products you have made texture all 128x128 (Yay!) and removed the opacity maps. Unfortunately, for how this product is constructed, removing opacity maps is probably the best option.
Sorry I cannot offer a better solution.

@Drosselmeyer This is the lollipop avatar I was talking about. If you go to the original mesh creator you will see this gray shade glitch originates there.
You're not alone with this problem Bunny, no worries.

I have seen the grey texture disappear and then reappear with the new update. I don't know what's going on with it. Currently today the grey texture is back. I'm going to try to remove the grey with an opacity map until this issue is resolved. It's affecting the product and I'm sure customers are not happy with it. Let me know if you find a solution to this. Thanks for looking into it.

Wonderful, I've been reading about it and checked it out in the Studio and I do see how it can be applied to furniture. Looking forward to trying it with rooms. Thanks

They can be used on anything, we just see them more on clothing because they get the attention... they're good for accessories, furniture, rooms just as readily.

I have a question...
These new features, how many of them can be applied to furniture or rooms? Everywhere I look I see only clothing and related items for dress wear.
Are they taking into account those of us who don't do clothing????

And when I mean different texture sizes. I mean the main texture was 512 x 512 and then the shine was 256 x 256. So I just made them all 128 x 128 since the texture on the lollipop is small anyways. So now all the textures are 128 x 128.

I created the avatar in classic due to the t-pose issue I have experienced with past avatars with Studio.
Then I went into studio and made the lollipop textures and added shine; submitted.
Everything was fine for months. Then on one of the last Studio updates since October something changed and the ring around the lollipop turned gray. All meshes including the original mesh are affected by this.
When I was investigating the matter in both Studio and Classic. I noticed the texture sizes were different so I went back through and optimized all my textures for the lollipop. It had no effect on the gray ring.
I normally do no go back and forth from Studio to Classic. I just was curious about what was going on months after this issue occurred.
I hope that gives you some insight,
Bunnie

@BunnyCakes This is indeed wacky. I have taken a look at your products and have alerted the team and we are investigating. I will point a couple things to be aware of:
Going back and forth editing in Studio and Classic Client is risky biscuits. I would advise against it unless you have a genuine need to do so. We would like to know what that need is so we can avoid you having to do it :)
In Classic Client all textures in a single material need to be sized the same. This is not the case with Studio and all Next platforms.

Hmm... The mesh appears to be using a 'bad' UV map that's not properly unwrapped. Looking at the image below I'd expect the two textures to map across the mesh correctly. But they don't. Instead they map as though the entire UV is collapsed to a single point so only a small section of each image is shown on the object.
It could be then that yes, with the new features being introduced to Studio, IMVU has changed something that's 'broken' previous behaviour resulting in what you're seeing.

When I opened Studio after updating textures in Classic none of the changes were implemented or saved in Studio. I had to change all those textures to the new sizes. I'm uninstalling studio and reinstalling. I will do that with classic as well.

I have checked the original mesh I derived from and my meshes. It turns out the original mesh is also grey on the band and so is everyone else who derived from it.
Something happened a month or 2 ago that changed how this texture appears on STUDIO.
@jazzKat I went and took screen shots but after looking more into it. Posting the images of the texture sizes is redundant since its all products affected from all the way to the original mesh. This mesh was fine before some change was made with Studio. I'm going through and changing all my textures to match on both studio and classic to see what happens. They are going to be 128 x 128. I removed the opacity from the original so my lollipop is solid. The original textures are different sizes but it didn't effect me a few
