There is a program within the Studio folders called squirrel.exe that set off a flag with Bitdefender. I uninstalled, but now it won't let me re-install Studio, even with a fresh download. Is anyone else having this issue or know a solution?

Hi @GypsyButterfly It depends on where BitDefender found it and what the actual error message is... I finally removed BitDefender a couple of years ago as it gave false positives on something, all the time!
Is Squirrel exe a virus? Yes it *can* be, but it *can* be and legit Squirrel.exe. It's Name can cause a False Positive in lessor known or non-updated antivirus / antimaleware, apps.
It is best to confirm all false positives with another trusted AntiVirus software. I normally use Malwarebytes antimaleware as it is Free (or paid) and it is a good reliable source to test suspicious files. It is manually run with the non-paid version but their A/V Definition Files are very accurate in either case.
Squirrel.exe *can* be an installer or updater program created by WhatsApp Inc. It works with many legit software programs. Examples are Microsoft Team, Discord, many other C++ applications. It is Not always a virus or spyware.
If you have the error message and it was "W32/Squirrel-A" in the Squirrel.exe file , this is an appending virus!
W32/Squirrel-A attempts to infect Windows executable files with file extension 'exe', 'EXE', or 'scr'. The virus searches drives C: to Z: for such files, as well as available network resources. It is basically a Nasty Spyware program that reports your computing habits, etc. to the hacker. If you have this virus specifically, follow removal steps Here: Microsoft website.
I hope this helps...

Seem to recall squirrel.exe being a legit thing for the apps (but don't remember what it did). So it's likely a false-positive because that file isn't in BD 'safe' list.
