[Archived - null] I added particles to a Christmas tree, I then derived the tree and when I opened it in beta it had reverted to the original particle image? I am perhaps dumb, but I could not see where to replace that image in the beta client?

In the classic client, we can add particles via a .json file and to change this we simply drag and drop the new particle file into the imvu folder making sure it is named as the file we wish to replace. The beta client is not seeing that this file has been replaced and reverts to the original ignoring what was added. I am aware the new beta has particle addition built-in but if I am honest I don't like it at all. Perhaps it is a case of teaching an old dog new tricks lol. Presently I can't seem to find the same folder we can open in the classic client in beta if it is there perhaps someone could point me to it. Thank you for your time

Hi @LadyFlameEternal The particle Effects were not fully implemented in the Classic Create Mode. It was known they may not continue to work, even in Classic way back then. The Particle Effects created in Create Mode had no standards to "port-over" or to help make them all translate / work correctly in the Studio. For these reasons the Particle Effects were "re-written" to industry standard in the IMVU Studio. I would advise anyone making new particle to do so in the Studio with the provided tools. This should ensure they will work going forward. See the IMVU Staff post in this discussion from @TauntaunTonic https://help.imvu.com/s/question/0D54p00002GATUgCAP/ The explanation there is probably better than mine :)

IMVU has an introduction Tutorial on the New Particle Effects located in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoySwRfZKKQ&list=PLMAeCgOCjzsBc2C1-5aD7EkUhCTjjZrzk&index=20 There area more tutorials on the Studio located on this link, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMAeCgOCjzsBc2C1-5aD7EkUhCTjjZrzk

I hope this helps...
