Will there be subcategories beyond just Tops / Bottoms / Shoes etc. in Studio? In the Classic Creator there is a main category (like tops, shoes, etc.) and subcategories beneath those. I get very precise in trying to find the closest subcategory to the item I am creating. It also helps me find things in my own catalog because it more easily narrows things down.
As it is now, if one is making shoes in Studio it all goes to the subcategory of "New Shoes" when the item I was making had an existing and more specific subcategory available.
Will at least the existing Classic subcategories eventually be added to Studio?
What would be even better is if creators could define their own subcategories. Creators make different things and define things differently. It would really be a wonderful thing if we could just assign our own subcategories under the main ones categories. If someone is making a derivable, the creator doing the deriving could either have it go to a generic subcategory or define their own.
But even if the above is not possible, just getting the Classic subcategories back would be great!

We are also looking very closely at Action products (both trigger actions and furniture actions) as their own category.
That would be divine.

Hey folks. Just wanted to chime in here. We are definitely going to open up more subcategories on Desktop/Studio, and we want to get it right. It won't be the wild west of sub-category creation that we have in the Client, so we'll probably pick the major most popular sub-cats that have been used in Classic and expose those, then consolidate others. We are also looking very closely at Action products (both trigger actions and furniture actions) as their own category. Particles that exist on their own need their own category (or sub-category). Scalars, Pets and Hands (Gloves) too! I'm probably missing a bunch, but just thinking out loud at the moment. It's a big ball of yarn to unravel. We will get there.
Thank you for all your feedback!

From what I remember from the discussion, IMVU wants to set the sub-categories, as having creators do it made for a lot of chaos...and I can't blame IMVU.
I'm sure eventually they'll get this figured out.

I agree. There should be some subcategories for different products and not just clothing. Maybe some simple logic could be added so we don't have 50 subcategories for each...

@cbmvb Thank you so much! I just felt like the default IMVU avatar had nice solid poses....just wouldn't sit still. ;)
I use it all the time as well.

Was mentioned in the last big Zoom call where creators learned about features and some got a crash course in Studio.
This question was asked, they're listening, and they're looking into it. I can't imagine them not expanding the categories.
