[Archived - null] Hi! I tried to derive a derivable product. I usually drag&drop the textures from IMVU Studio and modify them. I tried today to do the same thing, but after the IMVU Studio Update I noticed that I'm no longer able to drag the textures fr

[Archived]Since not all creators with derivable products leave the textures on the website description, I'm not able to derive anymore products that are derivable.
I would like to know if that's a bug and it will be fixed after the next update, because it was a really helpful feature.

[Archived]@TauntaunTonic really? Then it should've been a bug. If the textures are being stolen there's DMCA for that.
Leaving a product derivable means that the Creator gave his permission to others to modify the existent texture in another way and post it on their shops but with the condition to not leave the product derivable next.
A while ago I joined LIVE CHAT Support and I asked this exactly specific thing: "Are we allowed to drag&drop the textures from IMVU STUDIO and modify them?" THE ANSWER: Yes! As long as the Creator left the product on derivable - it means that he already gave permission to others to edit them (Of course not for them to be stole but just MODIFIED).

If I open the project folder and right click edit the material, then save (to same location)... The Preview Button becomes active.
If I drag a Material from anyplace with the same name of the material (overwrite) I want to change and drop it in the Project Folder, the Preview Button does not become active.
It is okay of this is the way it it intended to work (asset protection), we just need to get used to it and it should be noted or instructed someplace. IDK
I am all for the asset protection and closing loop-holes.

[Archived]@Fangsie This is not a bug. It is intentional. For the protection of the texture artists, we do not want to make it easy for texture theft to occur (intentional or not), so this change closed that loophole. We want to leave the decision up to the Texture artist or Mesher that you derive the product from if they want to provide the source textures. You will find source textures on the product page if they've been made available.
@LestatDeLioncourt @Ericfr Confirming your bug with auto-update of assets inside the project folder (I believe this is what you are experiencing?). Change a texture inside the project folder, and it's not auto-updating inside Studio, correct?

[Archived]yeah same here.. they apparently changed the workflow.. you have to add a step where you click on the right panel on the texture, which will open the small panel and from there you have to search and replace the texture... I'm wasting so much time in checking all those things each time...
This being said, the texture added goes in the compressed folded and you can't edit it again from there.. forcing you to go back to your source and importing it again once your texture modified.. It's a nightmare.

[Archived]Confirmed - I tried Dragging an edited material from my desktop into the Studio Project Folder (the only one there) and nothing happens inside the Studio. I then did this several times with other materials and they either didn't give the Preview Button access or they did give the button and then nothing happened when I pressed it. Weird goings on....

[Archived]Oh, I just noticed that.. After I read your question I tried to drag and drop texture from a derivable and yup, you're right. Last update doesn't allow me to drag and drop textures anymore sadly
:( hope we will have that feature back soon
