I am deriving from a pair of pants. If I load the outfit I am deriving from into Studio, it shows the pants back as 512 X 512. If I load the it into old creator program, it shows it as 256 X 256. Why would that happen?

@TauntaunTonic are 512 x 512 images not fully supported yet despite the newsletter announcement? We still need to be using the legacy requirements?

Thanks @jazzKat Yes, there will definitely be some resizing in the Client if you use a 512x512. If you want resizing to not occur, you could make sure your textures are maximum 512x256 or 256x512 (which is the Client max texture size).
Keep in mind that we're working on expanding texture sizes to 1024x1024, but it's requiring a host of server changes and compression work to make sure we don't hinder performance for users. Right now it's looking like some time next year.

Hi @VictoriaSecretzz, Studio is completely different software. The guidelines for Studio are not the same for the Classic Client Create Mode. The Studio team has changed limits that are not supported in Create Mode. Create Mode is unchanged and still resizes/ compresses textures that are larger then the suggested limits automatically. Create mode texture guidelines that state they resize 512x512 to 256x256 etc:
As long as there are two ways to submit products there will be two sets of guidelines which does have an effect on products working in the old and new software. As an example iProducts only work with new software. Not all of our old products submitted using Create Mode will open or work in Studio.
Thanks

@VictoriaSecretzz I haven't noticed this. Do you have example PID number? I do know IMVU is planning to expand the max resolution in the Studio at some time but....
