The Blender addon default mesh for creating furniture has a incorrect UV map layout and doesn't match the sides of the mesh.

A couple of things on that;
1) it doesn't need to, UV's can be mapped in all sorts of ways so long as you end up with something functional.
2) the ref object is only really meant to be used as a reference object for scale.
