So... huge glitch (I hope) My catalog, and that of other creators that are over 10.000 products, have been downsized.

IMVU catalogs are now only 10.000 products. If you try to go back to show anything older than your last 10.000 products, you cannot browse for it at all.

Examples of creators that have a legacy of over 10k items and have been culled:

Screenshot_10Screenshot_8Screenshot_9myself included

Screenshot_7Now this is BAD because when I take a random catalog and try to go past the 10.000 products count this happens:

One moment youre browsing as normal:

Screenshot_12Next moment Javas catalog has poofed:

This is not cool. Last month my catalog totally dissapeared on and off for two days and now we are missing thousands upon thousands of products.

Please fix? Thank you.

It doesn't help to be honest, what it's doing is minimizing the products that are shown in a certain category and that can strongly influence sales for some one who may only create hairs. This also pulls into question the tier system too because to remain pro if your sales are down, you have to at least make a minimum of 80 products a month, this number soon mounts up over the course of a year and many people will be exceeding 10k in product categories and then be penalised for doing so. Some further though needs to be put into this on IMVU's side, they need to properly evaluate the repercussions of their actions before implementing such hairbrained ideas and again.. inform the community of such things instead of just trying to get away with it for aslong as they can before we notice.

Hi again! I just spoke with the team, and it looks like the 10k limit has been in place for quite some time. Search results max out at 10k when you don't use any filters, but all of your products are still searchable and filterable. Hope this helps!

This is interesting for sure. It does need investigating for sure. @RigsK  Thank you for doing that and getting back with us.

Thanks @RigsK for looking into this! Also, I notice that if a keyword has more than 10,000 products returned, in the Classic web catalog it will just say 10,000 just as in the above situations for individual creators' catalogs. As an example, my niche is pajamas. Before this glitch there would be on average around 32,000 to perhaps 35,000 results for the keyword "pajamas". I like to try to get an idea of how many there are at any given time. But now it just says 10,000. If someone is doing a Best Match search, then basically the remaining 23,000 to 25,000 that have not sold as much recently will not be visible. People sometimes go way back in the catalog to find something unique. A sale for something like that could be the beginning of a trend, bringing something older back into some degree of popularity again.

In fact, the same thing happens in the Classic web catalog for clothing in general. It used to show a much higher number.

Upon inspection, it is true that the items are limited via category (whatever category that may be). 10.000 per category MAY not seem that bad, however we have many creators that specialize in a particular category AND since we know the the new platforms have less categories... unsure how that affects mobile and new desktop.

OK, no I AM NOT happy, I have well over 20,000 items in my store and now you have culled more than half of them? Seriously? I assume in that case that IMVU will be refunding ME credits spent making and submitting these items.

The very first item I ever made is this:

https://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=46453874

(It definitely needs an animated icon when I get time!)

I just checked on a search under my items in Classic client and chose furniture. It is visible as the last item.

If I look in the furniture category on my items on the Classic web site I can find it.

Searching through the right categories I can find my other older items.

While signed in as my alt (I created the above on my main account) I searched under Furniture and Couches with Poses. I sorted with newest items first. I searched on the keyword "Teal". That had 2,648 results at the time of searching. I found my couch on Page 10. I looked at item numbers before and after my couch. It is in the right spot based on item number with a newest items first sort.

I think the glitch simply prevents an accurate count of visible items we have plus does not let people go page by page beyond 10,000 items or roughly 371 Classic web shop pages at 27 items per page. That is if one is simply looking at all items by the creator with no other search criteria (keywords, gender for clothes, category, etc.) Until a few days ago it used to be possible (when glitches were not happening) to have a total count of our visible items at least on the Classic web shop and one could go back however many pages to the very end. Now, to get older items one must limit by categories or search with keywords and often for items by the creator name.

Curious, do any of the ones above 10k still show in

an individual product search (not page by page)?

I have noticed the same thing with my catalog. I have over 14,900 items but it is capped at 10,000. I noticed the same with another creator who I know has over 15,000 items and another that I know has above 25,000 items.

I checked my product list under Creator Reports. Everything that I have made is listed. Everything is marked visible except those items I specifically chose to hide. Randomly clicking on older items, each one comes up as visible in the catalog.

It has to be a glitch of some kind and I hope it can be fixed soon. I checked via the catalog and found my oldest items can be obtained if I look at things like highest price (the first item I did was furniture so it was higher priced than the clothes I regularly produce now). I have yet to search on anything and find it gone. Yes, if one looks at their entire catalog and keeps going backwards it will stop at 10,000 items. But individually through searches older items can be found.

I want to believe it is a glitch (PLEASE BE A GLITCH), because If this is not a glitch then why weren't we notified? Why isn't it in a widespread TOS or Creator agreement update? I am missing almost 9000 products which is almost half my catalog... so if this is not some kind of random error and these items are now largely inaccessible due to some kind of decision. I definitely want to know why. These items were paid for to be accessible in terms that I read and agreed to at the time. In none of these terms did it say they would eventually be removed...

I don't want to assume, but it seems that the last few years of product influx has been so overwhelming... both for clients and the actual platform that they can't maintain that much memory in their servers, and if that's the case, then why did they change the tiers making every single creator overproduce to maintain this ridiculous new tier system? I personally prefer taking my time creating a complete collection like the human being that I am but IMVU for the past 2 years has been making me feel so overwhelmed by the demand that my interest to remain an active creator keeps declining. The real question is, if they made these changes, why are we the ones to pay for them every single time? I do hope they fix this if it's a glitch, if it's not a glitch then I just see this place declining even more in the future.

Oh This is really messed up. Did so many Devs just work for Free? all those credits thrown into making catalogs over 10K products should be refunded immediately.
