Hello! I am really happy to see that one of the things that I wanted - that was the imvu+ designation - is now marked on imvu studio products!
However, that leads to a question I've had for a while. Perhaps the result is intended and if so just ignore this post.
At this point I have forced myself to almost exclusively use imvu studio so that I can become very familiar with it. But the only products that receive the imvu+ designation are those products that take advantage of the special imvu+ effects that are not available in classic. So in the mobile/next client, when I click to show only imvu+ products in my wardrobe or the shop, none of those things show up that were made in imvu studio but without the special imvu next features. At first I "cheated" and added extra things that had no final effect (such as a shine, but with a fully black opacity) so that I could get the imvu+ designation on the product because I think I get more creator points. But that's nonsense really, surely it just adds weight to the product. Am I still getting extra points for creating in studio even without the imvu+ designation? But some things just don't make sense to add the special effects, especially new meshes. Is there any benefit to using studio for items that will never receive the imvu+ designation?
I do have some products with the imvu+ designation that are no different than the other products. It seems that if I am able to add the special effects, and then later take them off, it sometimes retains that imvu+ designation.

Thank you for that answer, @Drosselmeyer. In summary, then, imvu+ is a special effects designator for those things that take advantage of the newer platform and cannot be experienced in the classic client. Thank you for the additional explanation on the room lighting. I had been wondering about that.

Hi @Lexique, You are correct about IMVU+. A product will get the designation if there is some feature that is only available on the Next platforms such as shine, emission, particles, etc. For rooms, it is a bit different in that if the lighting conditions are conducive to showing shine (ambient light low, at least one light in the scene) it will get the IMVU+ tag even if there are no Next platforms effects applied.
There is this help article, but it does not seem to have a list of what features trigger the IMVU+ and I could not find that list.

I did actually think of one solid reason to use studio at least as a final touch, @RigsK and that’s the ability to better specify the imvu + icon!

hello @RigsK , thank you for your response. As I said, I don't know what the determining factor is for a product being labeled as imvu+. From what I can see, it is only when a product is taking advantage of imvu next capabilities that are not available in classic.
To answer your request, here are some products that I've created in Studio that don't have the imvu+ designation
eyes never seem to get the designation:
61784149
62019941
nor do scalar only products, ever.
62075562
62077045
furniture poses, never
62524597
62524659
and the avatar accessory boxes never get it if they don't have special effects
62913244
here is a product that was imvu+ when i first published it, then i went back and undid it, but it retained the imvu+ designation
62525219
I devved 12 photo rooms exactly the same, no special imvu+ effects. none of them received the imvu+ designation except for two and I have no idea how they got it, and then 10 of them didn't.
62306630
62338880
and none of my meshes have received that designation either.
63190802
So if this is the way it is supposed to be, it just seems there is not much advantage to using IMVU studio over classic unless I just enjoy using it (or want to be a beta tester), unless I'm specifically adding the Next only effects such as shine, emmission, particles, etc. Am I correct in this? If I get "extra points" in my creator tier for using studio even if the product doesn't get that designation, then it might be worth it!

Thank you for the heads-up @Lexique and great to hear you're using IMVU Studio. Can you provide a few of your PIDs that should receive an imvu+ designation but aren't?
