I have run into this annoying bug a couple of times, every time I do, it makes me go back to classic to do all my opacity maps.
1- I create an opacity map named Alpha01. I apply it to my project, all is fine and when the scene is refreshed, my opacity map applies correctly.
2- I decide I want to edit my opacity, so I do my edits and overwrite my file in my folder, to then replace my opacity file in studio, this is when my opacity simply does not update. It remains the unedited version... unless I apply a file that has a completely different name to the one I originally created, it will not update.
This means I need a new file every single time I make a change to the opacity.. if I am working on a map of a mesh I have never worked with before, this can mean dizens of files.
So when this happens, I go back to classic, make my opacitys and go back to studio to submit my finished product.
I am assuming this should not be happening and replace file should be working.

I di get the update but apparently even clearing my cash no longer had any effect since its been a few years since I installed IMVU so I un-installed classic and reinstalled classic with a fresh download now it's working fine. Thank you for all the help everyone

@CSCreations Are you running the latest version of Classic? We have made a few tweaks in the last few months so that Classic and Studio formats will play nice with each other.

So decided to completely uninstall classic ( had a file in HTTP cache that I could not delete or do anything with) hopefully that file will go away as well and do a fresh install.

I have them hidden in the shop so not sure if my classic has the issue or what they all should be fine but they are not and I cleared the cache several times already.

I too tried them this morning. All looks fine! did you do something to fix them?
I also tried the different settings in Classic for the Graphics Rendering. They look fine set on "Standard" or "Direct 3d" etc.

hi @CSCreations i messaged you this morning couldn't login somehow... i checked that hair and for me it looked good clearing cache sometimes dont solve how it looks... sometimes it takes a bit longer before you see it.... what i noticed was that each time i changed the opc it change from blend to alpha not sure if that also happend before the update never paid attention to it

Definitely looks "muddy" instead of detail/smooth/soft in Classic.
I know other have had to "adjust" the opacities for a "balanced" look. I do not know the complete answer. As time allows, I am sure staff will jump in with information.
Our Engineers are very concerned for all reports :)
Oh, did the setting, suggestion do anything for you?

Heya @LestatDeLioncourt If I open it in classic and it looks wrong there too, but composite blending is turned on, I have never had an issue using this opacity map and texture its on most of my hairs, and worked last week so that's not the issue. Prodoct id 61434144 ( seen in the second pic from top) is one made yesterday and has the issue ( the blending issue don't even make sense other than that it may have been doubled somehow), Product Id 61375669 ( first pic from top) made the day before the update has the same texture and opacity for the baby hair same setting ( different hair color same mesh used) and no issues. The bottom pic is what alerted me to the bug and I added descriptions ( already send with bug report)

Do you see the Composite Blending Set when opened?
What does it look like there?
Can you provide a snapshots of both looks, in Studio and in Classic?

I have a similar issue after the recent update ( two days ago)
Not sure if anyone else is having any issues, but besides the classic Icon being replaced with the next icon I also noticed Yesterday that any hairs I have been working on are all scrap now. when I first load the Baby hair mesh and add my opacity map it sets it by default now to Alpha and I had to change it to Coposit each time, it looks great in studio, but boy did I get a surprise when I put on the hairs in Classic.
It's like the system remembers the first setting and ignores any changes after when it comes to blending settings and icons. At least the icon was an easy fix and I went on the classic webpage and edit HTML and uploaded the icon there but going back into studio and checking the hair to make sure composite blending was set did not do a thing.
We had that problem with an update in the past I already reported the issue hrough the feedback menu in Studio. No I just want to see who else has the issue and if there are any possible solutions I am not aware of, because I now have 5 hairs that I had to hide in the shop >_< that's a hole day's of work out the window.

I had some opacity issues after the update, so I reinstalled Studio to see if it was getting any better, but it didn't. I derived the same item again and it worked but the previous one is impossible to fix. I reinstalled Studio for a second time and now it's not even loading.

Oh! Maybe thats why I thought that changing the setting fixed, maybe it was the update.... because I did update recently. I will re-apply the optimization and re-try tomorrow. Thanks!

Hey @MissMaya Have you tried the "Optimize Previews Off" ? This setting turned Off will force the asset to immediately update with IMVU Servers, etc. I am wondering if the Asset is getting "confused" between your location and the IMVU Servers. I may be way off here but, it is worth a try.
I have had this happen. I was Saving Often and able to close the Studio and reopen it to get things back on track. This option too should not be needed to make things work.
Try the Optimize Previews in the greyed-out or Off position. It may help. File > Preferences > Optimize Previews > toggle.
