I don't use the desktop version lot, however it was brought to my attention by someone that white is showing in in the background in alot of rooms. it is especially noticeable in smaller rooms shells when you zoom out. this happening using the desktop version 10.15.10. when using the classic client the bg is all black.

UPDATE: Fix is in progress. Background WAS black and will be again once fix is in place.

To be most "compatible" with the older Client, New Desktop, Next, Mobile should maintain the Black "Outer-Space" look for previously sild products. Thank you so much @Drosselmeyer for going to "bat" for us :)

This is a bug as far as I am concerned. The background color of the 3d scene should be black and not transparent. I have written it up.

Hi @LestatDeLioncourt Thanks for the info. I will let others know too. I agree imvu need give us a dark mode option too.
@ShopTina I agree the white bg can trigger migraines. it also ruins how some the rooms look. I also notice that the black bg helps camouflage any gaps in the mesh. The white bg make it sticks out like a sore thumb.
I guess I could get sky dome, texture it all black to try to address the issue but it would be easier if imvu would change it back to black like it is in the classic client or at least give an option like LestatDeLioncourt suggested.
Besides, doesn't using dark mode consume less battery power on devices? I know it is easier on the eyes for some people too.

The problem occurrence in older rooms on older accounts is what gets frustrating. 90% of my rooms started doing this due to some weird change, and now are completely unusable. From my clubs, to my live rooms, my visitor count has drastically dropped because of it.
I do not know what changed on the desktop version, but at this point, I’m avoiding rooms all together because the white with the computer screen gives me migraines. So my experiences with this has basically rendered my rooms unuseable that i have spent tens of thousands of credits on, and made VU unplayable. So I'm basically looking for a new platform to play and create on.

Hi @KozzWolf Rooms without a Sky-dome, Sphere or some type of enclosure will show white in the unused space on newer clients. I would encourage people to Try before they buy and use their preferred Client to do so.
It may be a good suggestion for people to be able to pick a default "Theme" for their own "outer-space" color. I would like to see the newer clients have available both a Light Theme and a Dark There, too.
I have found some people prefer the White outer-space and some prefer the Black. I think it is a choice each should make.
