[Archived - PrinceLotor1] my IMVU Studio won't open anymore, stays on the task bar as an icon, and it won't uninstall well, is it happening to others?

Extra notes: I have noticed that projects get corrupted and bugged here an there, but the worst had been to delete the project and start a new one (with same mesh same textures) and that was all it needed to fix it, but never before had blown the full program.

Most of the corrupted projects have happened with really old meshes, specially rooms for some reason.(probably not being able to work with the new maps, lights or rendering process (?)).

Dear @Drosselmeyer​  Woohoo! Let's celebrate victory!

This was a complicated one, I want to add for the record, in case this happens to someone else.

That I removed the following files:

• C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\imvu-studio
• C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\IMVU Studio (Windows)
• C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\IMVU-Studio
• AND: Documents/IMVU Studio Projects/CreatorNumber Folders

Insights: I think is possible a project file may have gotten corrupted (?) and was then unable to load, so I had to delete the Projects folder as well BUT after I restored it, is running normal.

More Insight: the last project I was trying to make was a layerable accessory converted from female to male (This I did it in classic client, to make it layerable). Is quite possible that the studio didn't quite read the item as layerable and or gender compatibility. I will delete that project and use another mesh more compatible

@PrinceLotor1​ Let's start with this:

• Is IMVU Studio currently installed?
  • Is IMVU Studio installed on your C: drive (as shown in the folder paths below)?
  • If yes, try uninstalling it using the Control Panel > Uninstall or change a program
    • If the uninstall fails let us know if there are any error messages and what they say.
    • Is 'imvu-studio' successfully removed from the list of installed programs or does it persist?
      • If it persists, what is the version number of imvu-studio and what date does it say it was installed on?
• Once IMVU Studio is uninstalled manually delete the following folders (you may not have all of these folders):
  • C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\imvu-studio
  • C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\IMVU
  • C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\IMVU Studio (Windows)
  • C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\IMVUClient
  • C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\IMVU-Studio
• Try installing IMVU Studio from the downloads page. Do not use windows 8 compatibility mode or any other non-standard install.
  • If IMVU Studio installs successfully, does it run?
    • If it runs ... WooHoo!!
    • If it does not run :( please describe what does happen, such as:
      • App window never shows up
      • App window shows up but is grey and there is loading pulser that never ends
      • App loads but there is an error
      • Or anything else you notice.
  • If IMVU Studio does not install successfully, what error messages if any did you see? Were any of the folders above created during the install?

@PrinceLotor1​ Ugh. I am so sorry to hear about this. It sounds like you have tried most of the things I would have suggested. I am going to run this by our Studio team and see if there are any suggestions.
