[Archived - kellinnk] I just started creating, and I'm not sure where else to post my question. But I wanted to make a shirt with holes, hoping to see body parts underneath it. But everything I tried just removed the body under the shirt. Can someone help

Hi @kellinnk

Are you using Blender or 3dMax?

Perhaps you are deriving from a product?

What product are you deriving from (PID or Page Link, plz)?

Thanks

Hi @kellinnk . If you want the body visible under the shirt, the best way is for you to provide the body as well. Even if the body mesh comes from you, the material can be taken from the avatar so the skin color will match. If you download the studio toolkit for your 3d software (Found here), When you make a clothing product, you will also get the avatars body parts. Here are the steps you should follow.

  1. Click the Append Clothing button from within the toolkit
  2. Select the gender you are working with, ideally you should use the "1.5" version so it bends nicer.
  3. Draw the UpperBody mesh into the CLOTHING_EXPORT group
  4. import your tshirt mesh to this file, and follow the steps from the toolkit help page to make the clothing product
  5. When you import into studio, make sure the deselect the skin material, this will allow it to be set by the avatars skin
