[Archived - WolfSpirit29] is there ANY way to make a black texture map white without losing the detail and sharpness of it. Also to not make it look like it's been washed out? This is for Adobe Photo shop. Thank u!

Also handy tool is the dodge tool just sweep it across after making the item grey .

I use photo pea it is free and i use contrast and brightness and click the legacy box, also the auto tone is useful.

I think there is more to it than that. It would be the same as taking a color photo and generating a color negative but used for a B&W Negative. Adobe walk-thru is here... https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/photography/discover/invert-colors.html

Thank u Lestat but invert does not maintain the details. That tool only works when making opacity maps.​

You can also use the "Invert tool" in Photoshop to transform your

"Black-and-White" material into a "White-and-Black". It should

maintain the same detail, sharpness, etc. with very minor (if any)

editing...

 

Go to the “Image” menu and then select “Adjustments”. Now

select the “Invert”. Micro Edit if needed...
