We all know the economy is tough right now, and it's why us creators need your support more than ever. There is too much promo credits in circulation and it's killing our income. This topic has been brought up in the past and I'm hoping it can be readdressed.

While we do appreciate having active contests for the community, is it really appropriate to give out promo credits as prizes? I'm curious to know the reasoning as to why it can't be REAL credits. Creators work hard to keep this platform alive, and we all know promo credits cannot put food on our table and pay our bills.

I also suggest to slow down on giving way too much promo credits on new accounts. At least wait until the account has been fully verified.

I quit creating unless it's something I want.. I spend REAL money to get credits to create and for WHAT.. More than half the things that's sold is a lousy 10 crd token.. one outfit sold 28 times and still NOT made back what I spent.. Then spend a fortune to try keep level up but even that is not good enough for imvu.. Almost all now is promo credits.. not worth my time to give what I paid to do gets given away for free.. so instead of getting annoyed any further .. I QUIT till IMVU makes if fair to paying members and stops with giving free credits and what WE pay for away..

I'm DONE..

When i first joined imvu 14 years ago we had to work to get our credits, we had the garage that you had the spin items, we also had the feed the dog, but mostly if we wanted credits for free we had to do peer review. The imbalance of it all now is there is no need to do peer with all the free being given away like sweets. This has now i think doing damage to peer and getting items through. It is taking days to get things passed. I am doing peer everyday and items are taking ages. This also is having problem when you have 2 or more items in a outfit, i sold a dress 3 times straight out of peer but the shoes they was stuck in peer for days the result is loss of sales for that item as the customer will just go find something to go with.!!

You said "I can't wait for imvu to make their next big cut. I hope they make only Diamond VIP creators able to have their shops viewable to the public, and privatize Platinum and Grandfathers."

I hope not.

Cash Out creators should be exempt from predit sales. Makes things easier! There are many creators out there who don't care about earning credits, they rely on commissions! Or their jobs irl! So I don't think it's fair to give them as much real credit sales as they've been getting.

There are so many abandoned grandfathered accounts, abandoned meshers, abandoned vip creators... not to mention all the creator shops who are selling very well but have moved on and don't need their credit profits anymore. How is that fair to the rest of the people here who are trying to build something?

I can't wait for imvu to make their next big cut. I hope they make only Diamond VIP creators able to have their shops viewable to the public, and privatize Platinum and Grandfathers.

they won't listen..

this is a pretty old argument and you'd think at a time of great financial difficulty for so many, there'd be an argument for 'ATLEAST' reducing the impact of promo credits, but they won't listen...

i've just had a DAY'S 'total promo sales' of over 35000 !

yes, that's not the total of what i would have recieved had they been credits, but you can see the damage those things do to a creators earnings!

if i was to recieve a twelfth of that sum, thats nearly 3k in credits a DAY!

21k a week

84k a month

1,008,000 a year

but they won't listen

Also...their competitor doesn't offer promo credits, just another reason why creators are moving...

i agree that we should be allowed to choose if people can pay us with promo credits. i was completely disappointed recently when i checked my sales and found that the majority has turned to promo credits. They don't even give us same value for them as they give away to our customers, which is also a complete rip-off. i wonder if they realize they are pushing creators to their competitor platform at a faster rate every day?

Maybe it's a stupid it idea, I haven't had time to fully think about it but, if imvu is gonna do this then we as creators should be able to make the decision to not allow people to purchase our products unless they're "real" credits. May as well add that, sales are already slow anyways and imvu giving out promo credits 24/7 isn't helping. There are people who make a living off of imvu, so we might as well have the choice not to accept promo credit purchases.

“Dojah said: Like this one for example, isn't 10,000 promo credits too much to just be giving away? Why can't the prize be in Real Credits so creators can actually benefit from it?”

My thought exactly!

As a small creator this hurts to see. I have a small shop. I don't earn credits, not enough to keep creating. That's why this 10K promo credits would do me good. But I have soent way too much money on IMVU. REAL money. And I have seen nothing in return. I can only create when my credits are at 10K. I can't create otherwise. So as a small creator I don't feel supported by this. At all.

Another one today, 10,000 promo credits being given away which means the creator whom the winner will shop from will be giving away 10,000 worth of their products for free. That won't pay the creator's bills and definitely doesn't benefit the creator. Capture

Hi @RigsK thank you for the info. I respectfully disagree, #IMVUDaily gives away promo credits which is valued at 10cr if used as dev token when submitting products. I wouldn't call that as a benefit. What would actually benefit creators is by giving out REAL credits as prizes, that way creators are not just tossing their products out for free and they actually get rewarded for their hard work. I'm wondering how does IMVU track the percentage between promo and real? Is it via product purchases or number of accounts owning it? I'm curious because majority of creators I know have more predit sales. It's reassuring to know that users are now required to spend real before using promos. I'm not discouraging the use of promo credits in the economy. It's true that if users get a taste of the experience, they will be encouraged to shop more. However, decisions should be made in consideration to how it will affect creators.

Like this one for example, isn't 10,000 promo credits too much to just be giving away? Why can't the prize be in Real Credits so creators can actually benefit from it?

Hi folks, thank you for sharing your feedback. Just weighing in here. The purpose of #IMVUDaily is to get the overall IMVU community engaged and shopping in your catalogs, which should benefit you. Also, over the past four years, the percentage of Promo Credits (vs. real Credits) has gone down. In addition, users are automatically required to spend Credits before they are allowed to spend Promo Credits. Finally, in general, inserting Promo Credits into the IMVU economy increases Credit spend. We know these general trends may not match every individual Creator experience, but this is what we see on a high level. Hope that helps.

I completely agree with you, sadly imvu is literally giving away our products for free, and now because sales are less we can all see the results, more products sold but less money coming to creators, why? Room creators are the most affected by this because obviously you don’t want us here anymore, I pay for imvu vip each month, what is it with gifting what is ours to your customers? I know many feel the same but they can’t talk about it here, I am tired of seeing promo crédité sales in my sales reports, it’s getting more and more, till one day I would not be able to make a living of imvu, sales are constantly going down by 400 to 500 dollars each month, what is going on???! Easy on promo credits we really are working hard to Make the products your giving away.
