I don't use gimp i find photo pea much easier as it has lots of tools close to photoshop, See if that is easier it streams to your computer so no download so no lagging.

Hi @ValentinaVDRMoney  This way of making icons sounds a little involved at first but when you do it a few times, it becomes more natural... :)

I like using the Camera Tool in the IMVU Studio as I can take snapshots of my project with all the new features of the Studio. Shadows, Shine, etc. Getting the right camera angle and closeness takes practice.

Use the Camera Tool from the upper left Camera Icon. Click the Camera Icon and select which type of Snapshot you would like to use. Finding your Snapshot is in the Documents Folder of your computer. It will be in a folder called Snapshots for your User ID or Member ID. On Windows your Camera Snapshots are in a place similar to this Folder Link.

C:\Users\YourWindowsName\Documents\IMVU Studio Projects\155913746\snapshots\

Camera Icon in the IMVU Studio

Once you have your graphic snapshot, open your graphic Editor. Start a New Graphic but make it 2048x1638px in size. This is pretty close to the proportions of the Icon size of 100x80.

Grab your Snapshot from the above listed folder and "Paste" it on top of or into the new one. Drag it around a bit until your product is centered well in your 2048c1638px new graphic. If the product doesn't show well or fill most of the new graphic, go back to your Create Mode or IMVU Studio and move the camera in or out (trial and error). Take a new snapshot and try again. Get close and centered enough that your product fills most of your new graphic. Do this over and over until you get a good snapshot. After the first couple of times this will get much easier.

Many new creators make the mistake of simply resizing the Studio 3093x2048px to 100x80. This is not the correct way to do this. Your product will not be proportioned and it will be stretched. It stand out as a mistake and looks very bad.

Once you have your Studio Snapshot pasted into the new 2048x1638 graphic the way you want it, simply Resize the Graphic to 100x80. Most Graphic Software has a setting and Options for resizing. Make sure your setting is Not set to Pixel Resize. It will distort your image when made small. Play with some of the settings. Look for a setting called Weighted or Weighted Average... something like that. Play with different settings for resizing in your graphic editor and you should have the best image.

This is where most creators have a small issue. It only takes practice to make nice icons.

Practice, Practice, Practice :D

I hope this helps...
