I'm getting a little frustrated with the editing process and can't find any help here or elsewhere. I am trying to place a hat but its in the wrong spot, I've been adjusting it in Maya and the process is very tedious:

  1. Adjust in Maya
  2. reimport
  3. change scale, add textures
  4. preview

After doing this many times I find that the hat still doesn't sit right after I submitted it for review because of my current model's hair being lopsided. There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it in the editor and I cant find a way to get the base IMVU model into Maya to make this process easier for me. It seems like endless tweaking. I at least need an FBX model in Maya if I can't tweak in editor to make this process much faster. How do I proceed?

There are some Maya Starter Files here if you're not got anything else for reference.

No, I wasn't able to find these. Unfortunately these are Blender files so I will need to install it and export them. I'm not sure why an FBX isn't available and why this is so difficult to find. Thank you for the link, it will help.

Did you try to export files from Blender that would be suitable for Maya? You can find avatar files for Blender here:
