[Archived - NastyNightmare925] Hi, I'm very new to everything but am pretty good about teaching myself stuff as long as I know what skill I need to learn. I wonder what steps a more skilled creator with psd & blender would do to make it for male avi? Than

[Archived]@NastyNightmare925 We are all learning and hopefully setting our goals higher and higher, too.
No dead ends if we keep challenging ourselves! I find it all every fun and exciting, too :D

[Archived]Wow, thanks so much for the input @LestatDeLioncourt, you're a total bamf and I've already been learning so much from posts of you helping orhers. It is 5000% a long term goal of a project that I was curious what the methods to achieve it might be. This way I have some specific skills to target and practice.
It seems like one of the hardest parts of creating is that the sky is the limit to the point so vast that a new comer has no clue where the sky starts

[Archived]Hi @NastyNightmare925 I understand what you are trying to do. My best guess is this is not an easy task.
First you need to learn the mechanics of making an IMVU Compatible avatar from scratch or find a "female boy avatar" to derive for your clothing items.
Making an avatar from scratch that is still compatible with other clothing items take much experience. Hard also is making the IMVU Head from scratch so to functions with avatar interactions, poses, gestures, etc.
I would not recommend this for someone starting out but, maybe as a long term goal. I say this because those who have tons of experience still have many heartaches and issues in creating these. Also, consider your non-IMVU Custom avatar would need to have it's own body clothing designed for exact fit. If you can find an avatar similar to what you want, derive from it and try making things compatible with that one avatar.
Making these clothes fit a male avatar is very hard and may be harder to pass the Peer Review. A seamless fit would be almost impossible.
Please note, making things from the female catalog (derived) can only be worn with a female avatar in newer platforms. The reverse is also true for deriving things from the male products in the catalog. You can set them to be compatible with both avatars but at this time this only works in the old IMVU Classic. With this true, your custom avatar would need to have either a male or female gender assigned to it.
Confused? Me too... LoL Give this some time or make it a down the road goal. I am not saying this is impossible but will take a ton of experience and skill. It is a very advanced project.
I hope this helps...
