[Archived]If you're looking at Blender, start here https://www.katsbits.com/codex/blenderimvu/ it's tailored specifically to IMVU creating and will take you through the basics.

[Archived]I have found several on udemy.com. Watch for sales! I have purchased several great ones for as little as $12.00 USD. Although, I have not seen any specific to making IMVU products, the basics and advanced techniques are used for all products, and exported items you may create.
Good luck, and don't give up :)

[Archived]Hi @Lyrik43 For Mesh Editors (of your choice) and "Formal Training", I would highly recommend LinkedIn Learning Online Courses. There is a slew of courses to take for all kinds of education but the 3d Editors are all there, too. There is a small monthly fee but I think it is very well worth it. Formerly Lynda the LinkedIn Learning Courses, Class, Training, Tutorials have a huge amount of courses and you can watch and participate in. Google the LinkedIn Learning for more information.
Once you settle on one of the many common mesh editors for IMVU you can get more detail on them in many places. Check out 3d Max, Blender, Maya, Sketchup, etc. most any editor that can render FBX Exports will work but finding support for them to export to IMVU is an important decision. Stick with the most common 3d Max, Blender or SketchUp.
I hope this helps...
