Greetings,

Is it possible with Blender to switch out a mesh on a product but keep it's existing animations?

Hi @FlareHero Yes, you may but sometimes it is tricky. Sometimes it is very hard to replace the .xsf file depending on what the project is. An animated furniture for example a "Merry Go Round" would be difficult as we don't know what 'bones' were animated in it. You may have to do trial and error until you discover what they did in the original mesh. But on the other hand if it is a mesh with avatar poses, the .xsf file may need to be changed to match the new mesh. If it contains both avatar poses and mesh animation, things get a bit more involved.

The best place to get support for a product is the original mesher or the person you are deriving from (depending on the project). I would discuss with them the proposed changes and see what they advise.

Hope this helps.
