Its not the emojis, its because it looks like you have a space.. Try putting the emoji again and then backspace. That's why its saying "Your display name cannot have trailing spaces."
So for ex: this is my emoji ":)" the blinking cursor should be touching your emoji if that makes sense. lmk if that works.
