If the item I'm reviewing disappears behind the glass in the review room, is that considered a technical issue? I have been skipping items like that as I'm not sure about this.

That's not a technical issue, that's just how things work in IMVU. If you have a product with blending (ie. semi-transparent) in front of another product with blending, often the behind one will disappear. It's how things are rendered here.
