Privacy, Chat Monitoring, Stalking, and the Silence Around Real Issues

Hello again,

I feel this topic is extremely important and needs to be addressed — both for creators and everyday users alike. It’s about privacy, stalking, and the lack of response when we try to protect ourselves.

Let me start with something I know for a fact: IMVU monitors and keeps records of our chat logs. I’ve had a phone conversation in the past where I was told exactly which room I was in and who was in it. So let’s not pretend these conversations aren’t being tracked — they are.

But here's the issue: if you have this access, then why are nothing being done about people who stalk, harass, or use vulgar, degrading language in rooms?

I’ve had people follow me room to room, using language that even a truck driver would be embarrassed to say. And when we report these things, what do we get? Copy-and-paste replies, generic links, or “make a ticket.” Then the ticket system tells us to post in the forums. And the forums? Well, they’ll often say "that’s not allowed here" or remove the post altogether. It’s a runaround — and it silences those who are just trying to protect themselves.

Another major issue is your Next program. You’ve allowed so much personal information to be visible through that system — who shops from whom, followers, activity tracking — and people use that to stalk or harass others. Even Facebook, which you once discouraged for promotion, is now being used heavily to spread catalogs and content. But with that comes more privacy risks, and it's creating more problems than it’s solving for many of us.

Let me also speak on behalf of many others when I say: we don’t need another third-party voice program or feature like “Concord” (or whatever the new thing is). Many of us already pay for VIP — and voice was supposed to be included. So why are we being pushed toward outside programs we didn’t ask for and don’t benefit from?

And finally — why were our radios taken away? Why are we constantly fielding angry messages from customers asking where their radios went, and demanding refunds — when it was IMVU, not us, who removed them? Now we’re hearing that you want to introduce your own radio, presumably so you can profit off it directly.

If that's the case, then you should be the ones answering the questions — not us creators who are constantly being caught in the middle.

I’m tired of seeing my block list grow, tired of hearing nothing when we ask for help, and tired of being pushed from one dead-end support path to another. You want people to post in the forums, but only if it’s good news or praise. Real concerns get buried, deleted, or ignored.

But if you truly want to hear from us — then you need to listen to both the good and the bad. That’s how you improve a platform. That’s how you keep loyal users. And that’s how you show creators and members that we matter.

Thank you,
