Studio Not Saving Catalog Icons

I have written up a bug ticket on the issue. In the mean time here is a workaround:

• Close Studio if it is open
• Navigate to the project folder and locate the file 'draft_properties.json'. For example: 'Documents\IMVU Studio Projects\<your_cid>\Sports Flares Gray\.package\draft_properties.json'
• Open 'draft_properties.json' in a text editor
• At the very end of this file change "ClassicThumbnailFromNextThumbnail":true to  "ClassicThumbnailFromNextThumbnail":false
• Save the file and open Studio and open the project
• The Classic project image should now be visible

@Drosselmeyer  ^This works! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I'm unable to edit the products I've already submitted in order to add the original custom icon, but I was able to fix all my drafts, going forward. I have 40 saved drafts, so I'm truly ecstatic that I don't have to redo FORTY icons! THANK YOU!!!

One of my alts didn't have any issues with this. When I looked at 'draft_properties.json' file, it didn't contain "ClassicThumbnailFromNextThumbnail":true (or false) I don't know if this information will help the team fix this bug or not, but I thought I'd share it, just in case.

I got your files and video and was able to see what is going on. I have written up a bug ticket on the issue. In the mean time here is a workaround:

Icon Changes with Product Download from Server

I think people are scratching their heads on this one... I have more information that may help.
I also have a way people can reproduce the issue...

Read the Steps First, as you will have to be quick to see what is happening. 

Steps:
1 - Create a product. Add a custom Icon and save your product.  I don't know if you have to leave it for a while...
2 - Open the Studio. Look at the custom classic Icon in the Drafts. It is correct.

3 - Click Edit on a Drafts Product.
4 - As soon as the screen changes, immediately click on the Info Tab repeatedly. (Click, Click, Click)
5 - Watch closely as the saved classic icon shows until the product fully loads.

As soon as the product loads, the classic custom icon is replaced white mannequin icon saved previously.  

I am guessing the Classic Icon is saved on the local PC and mistakenly overwritten by the white mannequin icon downloaded from the servers with the product's data.

I have a zipped file that I will try to send to staff containing several test products.

@Drosselmeyer. This issue is still unresolved with the latest update. Custom icons saved in Studio are not being saved, and there is no way to retrieve them. Unless you saved your icons on your computer, in addition to within Studio, you will have to redo all your icons because Studio is not saving them.

Thanks @Goldilocks and @HugsAndKisses, I have written up a bug ticket on this. Can either of you please do a IMVU Studio 'Report a Problem' the next time this happens? It is in the 'Help' menu and/or the '?' button in the lower right corner of the app window. Thanks!

@Drosselmeyer  More information: This did not happen with all my accounts, so I'm thinking that "maybe" it's account related?

@Drosselmeyer  I'm having the same issue. Additional information: I'm using the current version of Studio and have drafts saved with multiple accounts inside Studio..

@HugsAndKisses, Hmm.. This is new issue we are not aware. Just so I am clear, because I will need steps to explain to the engineering team what is happening, you have done the following:

• Derive a new product
• Assign a custom image/icon to the 'Classic (Required)' product image in the Info panel
• Save and close the project and close Studio
• Reopen Studio
• The icon is present on the project under Drafts, but when you open the project and go to the Info panel the 'Classic (Required)' product image is Studio generated image and not the original custom one you assigned?

And to be sure we are talking about these icons, correct?

@Drosselmeyer   I don't think I explained myself very well. I created projects in Studio a week ago and saved the icons that I created on the Info tab in Studio.Usually, Studio saves these icons, but it is no longer doing so. When I opened Studio today, I see my saved icons as drafts but when I open up a project, the saved icon disappears and is replaced with a Studio generated icon. How soon do you think this will be fixed? *The bug I'm reporting, simply stated, is that Studio is no longer saving icons uploaded on the info tab.

Hi @HugsAndKisses, Unfortunately, this is not available at this time. Once the classic product image is replaced and the project is saved the image data gets overwritten and the image file is unfortunately not saved to the project folder. We are make an improvement to the product image selection to where it will not default to replacing the classic product image when choosing the IMVU product image.
