This account has been on hold for a long time. I submitted a ticket a month or two ago on a brand new account. The account was given to me. I changed the email, purchased credits and everything was fine. Bought an outfit and decided to purchase more credits with the SAME card with MY name. The second purchase attempt somehow, someway, flagged the system and the account was put on hold since DAY ONE of owning the account. I could still purchase clothes in the store and log in, account was functioning. Just "This account is on hold' would pop up every log in. I take hiatus' on and off. Try to log in over the years and I can't even sign in, being told the account is suspended/on hold. Okay... I get busy in real life often so I never bothered too much. Life slowed down during the summer - usually when I am the most active online and come back to VU. I get an email with a temporary password from you guys on 8/4/25. One that states, here is a temporary password, sign in and immediately change your password. Sweet! I got my acc back! No. I got the "account on hold" message when attempting to change password. I see I'm signed in on browser. so I attempt to sign in on client. It works, I get the same "account on hold" message and ignore it. I chat with an OLD friend while in the shop. Hours in the shop, I attempt to buy 8k worth of clothes and it says I can't because the account is on hold.. Like c'mon dude. I can sign in again finally so that's a plus. But I feel like I got excited for no reason. I've been on IMVU since fall of 2008.. I come back for the nostalgia when life is slow. Not sure what more proof you guys need that the account is mine. Please someone aid in rectifying this frustrating situation. I know y'all are busy and have lives. Thank you in advanced, IMVU Team.

If it is the same account given to you that is on hold then I am unsure if the hold can ever be removed.
If on the other hand it's the new account that was given to you to file this case then there is a chance that the hold on your old account can be removed.
It's important that you stop using any account that was given to you. One should only use accounts that one makes or made. The original owner of the account doesn't make the rules of IMVU.
As far as I know there are still some things accounts placed on hold can do; some of which are filing help tickets and sending messages without gifts. If you still want to use an alternate account then it's important that you make that account yourself. It's probably best to use the account still on hold for as much as it can still do. I believe the only limitations are shopping for outfits / rooms / furniture sending gifts to others, buying credits and account upgrades. I do believe that accounts on hold can still receive gifts like outfits rooms and furniture.
The more that the account on hold is used for the things it's still allowed to do the easier it will be to prove that you are the original owner; especially sending / receiving messages with old friends.--- also chatting with them. They can usually tell if you are the same person as they used to hang out with because only you will know certain things about "the good old days"; like who did what or who said this or that and how others reacted. These old friends can help vouch for you. Take screenshots of the chat logs and save them as data files instead of links. Such data files can be uploaded as attachments to any help ticket.
You can try a few things to help speed up the process of getting account off the hold.
Since I don't know if you have already tried some of the things I will list then please forgive me if I mention something you might already have tried.
First: I am guessing you already made a help ticket and if not then you will need to. Please be patient when it comes to response time from the agents who will try to process the case.
1. On the account that has been placed on hold sign up for the 2 way account authentication which will help prove that you are the rightful and original owner of the account that has been placed on hold. Accounts on hold can still sign up for the 2 way account authentication.
2. Upload a selfie picture where you are holding an official picture ID held up close to your face and attach it to the help ticket. This selfie must be a close up of your face and the information in picture ID must also be visible in the selfie. This will help prove that you are who you claim to be.
3. In the help ticket disclose some facts about the account like purchase and payment history. If you can get your bank to make copies of old payment transactions to IMVU it will help. This information needs to be attached to the help ticket somehow. Maybe your bank can e mail you this information or upload it to a USB memory stick. This way the data is easier to attach to a help ticket.
4. Any other information or history you can provide about your account will also help prove you are the correct owner. This could be things like which IMVU groups is associated with the account. Account user names of IMVU friends, descriptions of outfits, which rooms you own, which public rooms you frequented... etc.
