Imvu getting worse and worse

Good morning,

Several items that I had purchased through the Imvu shop have been removed, and I have not been refunded, with the explanation that these items are typically found on the black market. I have never made purchases on the black market, only from the official Imvu store.

Considering this behaviour and the mafia-like presence among the staff and their protégés, I am immediately cancelling my VIP subscription and will avoid further subsidising this company, which has deteriorated significantly over the years. Especially with the introduction of Influencers. I miss when Shennon was still there.

For everyone dealing with this issue, let’s set the record straight.

The items IMVU has been removing from our inventories are not “black market” products. They were purchased directly from IMVU’s own shop  including AP-rated poses and other content IMVU themselves approved and sold.

Labeling these items as “improperly rated” or “black market” is flat-out wrong. If IMVU sold it in their store, then it is by definition legitimate. Taking away items after users have spent credits is not only unfair, it’s also a violation of IMVU’s own Terms of Service.

This is bigger than one account. Every user should be documenting their losses, keeping receipts, and filing support tickets. The more of us that push back, the harder it becomes for IMVU to hide behind false claims.

IMVU may own the platform, but they don’t get a free pass to take our money and then strip away the items we purchased in good faith. I’ve already begun legal proceedings to hold them accountable, and I encourage others to stand firm as well.

IMVU claims these items taken are black market and there not . there straight from there store not purchased from a individual with private shop. So they use false claims to take away from people. this message may not be approved because the truth hurts. And civil actions will settle this. Every since together labs joined this site went down hill taking stuff that has been in shop for years .. why because dont like anyone being intimate. AP whats that it doesnt stand for adult content anymore its basically ga, This is why imvu is failing and people going to 3DX.

Anyone with common sense that has become familiar with what IMVU considers inappropriate for GA, severely misrated or UFI  will know if a product they purchased or has been gifted will get removed if discovered by the IMVU staff.

Any content creator with common sense, especially one who has achieved  "pro" status should know better than to purchase such products regardless of where such products are sold.

If such products have been received as a gift then it is the responsibility of the recipient to report the message so the product can be removed and action can be taken against the person who gifted the product.

You should have known better than to purchase such products and or not reporting the messages if such products were gifted. Consider yourself lucky that the only action taken against you was removal of the contraband products and a warning.

Hi @oOFunOo, DaniKisser,  it can be alarming and confusing to receive a notification from IMVU that an item has been removed from your inventory under suspicion of being a "black market" purchase, especially when you are certain you haven't engaged in such activities. Here’s a breakdown of what this means and the steps you should take to address the situation and identify the removed item.

What IMVU Considers the "Black Market"

The term "black market" on IMVU refers to any transaction that occurs outside of the official IMVU platform and its authorized channels. This includes, but is not limited to:

* Purchasing in-game items, credits, or accounts from third-party websites.

* Engaging in trades or sales with other users for real money.

* Using stolen credit cards or other fraudulent means to acquire virtual goods.

IMVU's policies strictly prohibit these activities to protect users from scams, fraud, and potential account hacking. When IMVU detects an item that was sourced through these illicit means, it will remove it from the inventories of any avatars who possess it.

How to Identify the Removed Item

Since you haven't made any recent purchases, it's crucial to investigate which item was removed. The notification you received from IMVU may not have explicitly named the item. Here are ways you can try to identify it:

1.  Check Your IMVU Messages: IMVU's official communications, including notifications about item removals, are typically sent to your IMVU inbox. Carefully re-read the message you received. While it might be a generic notification, there is a chance it contains the name or an icon of the removed product.

2.  Review Your Inventory: This may be difficult if you have a large inventory, but you might notice a clothing item, piece of furniture, or accessory that you previously owned is now missing. Try to recall any items you've acquired over time, even those you didn't purchase directly yourself.

3.  Consider Gifted Items: The "black market" item may have been gifted to you by another user who obtained it through fraudulent means. Unfortunately, even if you were an unknowing recipient, the item is still subject to removal if it is traced back to a prohibited transaction.

What to Do Next: Contacting IMVU Support

The most direct way to get answers and resolve this issue is to file a support ticket with IMVU. This will allow you to communicate directly with their customer service team about the specific circumstances of your account.

How to File a Support Ticket:

1.  Go to the IMVU Help Center:** You can access this by logging into the IMVU website and looking for the "Help" or "Support" section.

2.  Start a New Case: Look for an option to "Submit a Case" or "Contact Us."

3.  Provide Detailed Information:** When you fill out the support form, be clear and concise. Be sure to include:

* Your avatar name.

* The date you received the notification.

* A clear statement that you have not purchased anything from the "black market" and have not made any recent purchases.

* Specifically ask for the **name of the item that was removed** from your inventory.

* Explain your concern about account security and the possibility of hacking.

Given that you haven't made recent purchases, this situation strongly suggests you may have been an unknowing recipient of a fraudulently obtained gift, or there could be an error. By contacting IMVU support, you can get clarification on what was removed and ensure the security of your account.

I'm pro creator but never mind, I'll close my shop. I don't like what IMVU has become. I have been an IMVU user since 2009 and have now deactivated VIP renewal on my two profiles.
