This doesn’t seem right, for the longest time I wanted to be a creator to make money on imvu & create awesome clothes for ppl to wear.
It never used to be a requirement to pay every single month so your shop can stay visible?
Yes, veteran creators have “the equivalent of platinum vip” but they only paid for it once!!!
Their shop never has any chance of disappearing!!
They could drop off the face of the earth for 5 years, come back & their shop would still be up! Nothing to worry about.
It seems to be such a capitalistic move on IMVU’s part to make me pay not only to be paid, but for my products to even show up in the catalog.
If I knew I had to pay the whole time, I wouldn’t have gotten vip to begin with. I might’ve just got gold, but now if my shop takes off- I have to pay $15 every month to receive anything I earn or for my friends to wear anything they bought.

It's unfortunate, but it's what what imvu has decided. I joined after they killed VIP as a one-time purchase and turned it into monthly, but I have known some who have that legacy VIP, and then lost it when they came up with the new tier system. Now they grumble about having to pay monthly or yearly to keep their shop.
I guess for me, it doesn't bother me as much because I've never known the other way. I can give sympathy though for what happened to all the legacies. However, I could also imagine that there's been many of those legacy VIPs that put stuff in the shop, and then just stopped coming on, and now the shop is full of stuff. That's many years old and crowding out newer items coming in. This is part of why I believe imvu killing inactive accounts and requiring the VIP outside of the money grab aspect.

Just checked, defs can’t get Legacy VIP anymore. Have to pay no matter what!
