Make sure that IMVU actually received the funds as opposed to someone else whom tricked you into thinking that you were buying credits from IMVU.
There exists fraudulent actors and fraudulent sites that can infiltrate internet connections of users to legit internet sites.
Make sure to use secure internet connections, especially when money is being transferred. Make sure all firewalls of your device and modem/router are updated and of high quality. Even then hackers can still infiltrate internet connections of users to legit internet sites; but not as easily.
Wireless WiFi and mobil networks are often less secure; especially if those networks are not privately owned and on privat property. Even if such networks are privately owned and on privat property the WiFi signal leaks into the soundring area. Hackers can easily intercept such internet connections simply by using devices that also can connect to the wireless network.
Hackers can even hitchhike and infiltrate the connection of a smart device network, example security cameras or even a smart coffee machine.
The more money that can be gained access to the greater lengths a hacker will go; it's the larger picture of gaining access than just the single small time transaction (in this case a IMVU credit purchase). The first small time fraudulent hit might just be a test to see if infiltration was possible.
Bottom line is that IMVU has to actually receive the funds to make the purchase successful.
