Peer Review Queue Improvement

We’ve rolled out an update to Peer Review that builds on the existing prioritization system and further rewards active participation.

Creators who consistently vote in Peer Review relative to their recent submissions will now see even stronger prioritization when they submit new products. These submissions move closer to the front of the Peer Review queue, making them more likely to be surfaced quickly for voting, and in some cases move through Peer Review in minutes.

Creators who are less active in Peer Review may notice slightly longer review times, though overall queue behavior should remain stable. As more Creators participate, the system naturally balances itself and helps reduce overall backlog.

We’ll be monitoring how this performs and making adjustments as needed, but this update is designed to more directly tie Peer Review participation to faster review times.

I want to address a serious issue that I believe many creators may not yet be aware of. I received confirmation from IMVU Support that starting June 1, only Diamond and Emerald VIP members will be eligible to submit Peer Review requests. This is a major and unacceptable change from what creators were originally told, which was that having VIP—any tier—was sufficient to create and submit products. With the current pricing (Gold $4.99, Platinum $9.99, Diamond $19.99, and Emerald $29.99 per month), this now forces creators to pay $20–$30 per month per account just to continue submitting products. That is on top of submission fees, duration fees, and the commission IMVU already takes from every sale. Many of us also manage multiple accounts, making this increase excessive and unrealistic. I have invested years of time, money, and creativity into this platform and built a large catalog, and now being told that my ability to submit products depends on upgrading to the highest tiers feels misleading and exploitative. There are already products sitting in review for weeks or months, and it is unclear whether those will even be processed without paying more. What makes this worse is the lack of clear communication—this was not widely announced, and many creators may not realize what is about to happen. Creators are the foundation of this platform, and decisions like this do not support the community—they push it away. This policy places an unfair financial burden on creators and raises serious concerns about transparency and trust. I strongly urge IMVU to reconsider this decision, and I encourage other creators to look into this immediately and understand how it will affect them.

Like other creators, I'm worried about the exorbitant delays in getting our creations approved. Everything suggests that IMVU is going from bad to worse and that its subscriber base is rapidly declining. Shouldn't there be a requirement that for every creation submitted for peer review, the creator must approve at least 25 pending creations? This disheartening situation discourages us from continuing to create.

PR and approval to the shop in my humble opinion shouldn't be left to creators to do at all.....  To me it comes across like IMVU tellin us to do the work they're supposed to be doing.    Been on IMVU a very long time.  The population has decreased by half in the last 5 years or so.  This makes the long wait times for PR to go through even more embarrassing.  Once upon a time, PR was almost instant.   Unless there is dedicated knowledgeable staff assigned to do PR, which I think is what is supposed to be, then creators are once again punished and made to suffer more than they need to.   The creators are essentially the reason the platform has gotten as far as it has.   Creators are going to get frustrated and just leave.  This is the slow painful death of the platform in real time, if you ask me..........

made products for a medusa bundle all other products passed almost instantly accept the  mouth light eye light and snake tail , the mouth light and eye lights took three weeks to pass peers. the snake tail  was submitted on feb 19th by march 19th it still had not passed peers so march 20th I had to contact support for it to finally pass peer review. which I had made AP in the first place just so someone wouldnt fail it for moving. which I do peer reviews almost daily so every other product i submit passes within minutes of submission.

A small update regarding the waiting time for products with .ogg files: my product, submitted on February 28, 2026, successfully passed peer review today, March 29, 2026. So, it seems you now have to allow around 4 weeks for products with .ogg files.

In short, they're still taking advantage of people. All this so we'll pay for the Diamond or Emerald VIP membership, which is what they want.

I find it unusual that product reviews using .ogg files are taking so long now. For example, I've been waiting for four weeks for two products with .ogg files. It wasn't this bad before, although sometimes it took up to two weeks. And some of my friends who create song boxes have also been waiting for their products for more than three weeks.

…there are simply not enough people doing Peer Review to make it go faster and I’ve been saying this for a long time, predicting that it will continue to get worse.

I believe there was an attempt to lower the number of votes required to pass the product. It worked for a short while, then degraded back to weeks. Now there is another attempt to make Peer Review better for Next/Desktop users. It might bring more people into reviewing products, but I don’t believe that will make much of a difference due to a majority of the users are on mobile. And with this the only solution to make a noticeable difference in review times - make it a mandatory. As much as I hate to say it, but unless each submitted product will require one product to be reviewed, nothing will ever change. One published - One must be reviewed. Of course one for one doesn’t sound like much, but with 10k products submitted daily it’s a 10k quarantined votes.

Sure, some of you will hate me for saying this, trust me, I hate myself for making this suggestion, but is there any other way? If you thinking that asking IMVU to pay more per reviewed product is a good idea, think again. How many more sales with Predits this will bring back to you, or basically useless now Dev Tokens… I’m out of ideas. If any of you have something in mind - speak up! No matter what anyone says - IMVU is listening and your idea might be the one that will make it all better.

@Lyciel666

As for the products with .ogg files in them - if you doing Peer Review regularly, you should notice that those products no longer being reviewed there and it’s been like this for almost, if not more than 2 years. I guess they go thru a different review, one that checks for copyrights on those songs and that is the sole reason they take that long to pass.

The problem is not only the time it takes to approve a product but the fact that this chat is losing more people every day. Out of 99 connected countries 30000 people and how many connected only by mobile and not by PC. I wonder if they ever wondered why.  Also, how many people can log in with their cell phones and go to the website and do peer reviews?  Imvu understood well that the money, the real money, I'm not talking about credits, it is we creators or derivators who bring it to this chat by paying a VIP every month, paying taxes on the products and accepting every restriction of them. We are penalized on everything now also on product approval waiting times, and it is not by voting on another product that speeds up the publication of ours, I have done it and I have had no results my products have been waiting for them for more than 20 days. I think it's just another way to get the last remaining users in here to leave.

It’s hard to beat the level of inconsistency in this text, dear Admin. Even with reviews, the articles don’t get through the review process any faster… no matter what you do… some things just don’t get approved, and it’s not fun anymore. If you make something for someone’s birthday, they don’t get it until months later. It really isn’t fun anymore. I’ve been here for 14 years and have to say it’s no wonder that the daily user count of over 100,000 hasn’t been reached in a long time. And it’s only going to get even lower. Very sad.

What specific timeframe is meant by "slightly longer review times"? And why are products with sounds, music, and voice boxes stuck for weeks? Many have been waiting for their music products for more than three weeks – all other products go through the review process much faster, why?

My products finally cleared peer review. It took TWENTY DAYS to get through peer review. Almost a month is too excessive, don't you think?!
