Here's what's happening: when I'm typing a message in room 1 and someone joins or leaves room 2 at the same time, what I'm typing stops in room 1 and continues typing in room 2. If I send the message, it's sent to room 2. This happens while I'm still visually in room 1.
Another problem: when I'm in a single room and someone joins or leaves, it stops what I'm typing; the text box is no longer selected. What I'm typing continues to appear in the speech bubble above my avatar.
Basically, I'm constantly interrupted while typing and I'm sending half-messages everywhere.
So the bugs only occur when someone joins or leaves. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled IMVU, cleared the cache, and deleted all hidden folders.
I've never seen anyone mention this problem, and I'm out of ideas on how to fix it myself.
ChatGPT is telling me about message routing errors and a buggy server cluster... well, I don't know.
Any ideas? It's quite frustrating to use IMVU under these conditions.
I'm here if you need more information! Thanks in advance.

Oh, and I should point this out. This has been happening for three weeks, and it started suddenly for no apparent reason.

That's exactly it, BadCharm. Note that what you type doesn't become invisible. The focus actually shifts to the room the person joined. If you send the message, it will also be sent to the other room.
That's a good summary: as soon as someone joins or leaves a room, the typing focus automatically switches to that room, without the room being displayed.

this indeed happened before and now it's back to piss off everyone again...
On Windows 10 and Windows 11 (both Home and Pro editions), whenever someone enters or leaves the room — the IMVU Classic client completely loses keyboard focus.
As a result: If you are typing a message in chat, the text input field instantly loses focus. You continue typing, but the characters go into nowhere and you have to manually click back into the IMVU chat input every single time. This happens constantly during normal usage. In busy rooms where people are constantly joining and leaving this bug is highly disruptive.
some people report also lose of whisper select and messages going out publicly, but I can't personally confirm that.

@Elezia I'm having the same issue as you, I think this bug has happened in the past if I'm not mistaken.
I'm using IMVU Classic.
