Why I’m done creating (And why your game is dying)

I’ve been a designer for years. I remember when making a simple couples animation took 20 minutes.

Now? I just wasted TWO days trying to make two characters move together. Two days.

Here is what happened, and why I believe your management is failing.

1. The "Toolkit" is broken and confusing.

  • Version 1.2.6 doesn’t even move the character.

  • Version 1.2.2 “works” but is full of strange warnings and missing buttons.

  • Your own official documentation tells us to use a button that doesn’t exist anymore (Append Animation File).

2. You destroyed a simple process.
Old designers like me just want to open a file, see two characters, and animate them. That’s it.
Now you force us to use “Ensembles”, “Furniture Tools”, and different skeleton files. You turned a 20-minute job into a 2-day nightmare.

3. The only solution is to use old software.
After all your “new” systems failed, the only thing that actually worked was Blender 2.79 and old starter files from KatsBits. Not your official tools. A third-party website.

4. I used a friend’s VIP account to test everything.
I was about to buy VIP myself. But after seeing how broken and messy the creation system is? Thank God I didn’t spend my money.
Why would I pay for a VIP subscription when your own team doesn’t even know how to make a proper couples animation anymore?

The sad truth:
IMVU is dying because of your own ignorance. New designers give up on day one. Old designers like me are quitting because you’ve made creation unnecessarily painful. You focus on selling VIP and credits, but you forgot that creators are the ones who build your game.

If you don’t fix this simple problem (allowing designers to animate two characters smoothly without jumping through 100 hoops), don’t be surprised when everyone leaves.

My advice to any designer still suffering like me:
Forget the new Toolkit. Go download Blender 2.79 and use the KatsBits starter files. It’s the only setup that actually works right now.

A frustrated veteran designer.
