Facial expression won’t export unless “Export All Bones” is enabledHi,

Un Solved

Hi, I’m having an issue exporting a facial expression with the IMVU Blender Toolkit.

I’m using Blender 4.5 with IMVU Toolkit 1.2.9. I created the avatar through Avatar Tool → Create Avatar Asset, made my facial expression using the morph controls, and keyed the facial controls in the Action Editor using Set Key. The facial morph keyframes are visibly there in the Action Editor.

My export settings are:

  • Make Single Pose: ON
  • Export Facial Morphs: ON
  • Morph Controls: ON

However, whenever Export All Bones is OFF, the exporter repeatedly gives me:

“WARNING: No pose animation data to export!”

The only way I can get the export to succeed is by turning Export All Bones ON. The problem is that doing that also exports the avatar’s full body/T-pose, when all I want is a facial expression that can sit on the avatar without overriding the body pose/animations.

I’ve already confirmed that the facial morph controls are keyed and present in the Action Editor, so I’m not sure why the Toolkit doesn’t recognize the facial animation by itself.

Is there a specific export setup required for a facial-only expression/morph action, or is this a bug/limitation with Blender 4.5 + Toolkit 1.2.9?
