Being unable to download the IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) could be caused by your Windows firewall, anti-virus software, or other security settings on your computer. Below are the instructions on how to temporarily disable certain security features that may help resolve the issue. However, they are to be followed at your own risk. If you choose to perform these steps, it is critical that you re-establish these security measures once you've successfully downloaded the IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) Try any one or all of the options below until your problem is resolved:
Windows Firewall could possibly be blocking the connection that's why the IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) is not properly downloading. To disable or turn off Windows Firewall on your computer, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Click Start then click Control Panel. Alternatively, you can just search for "Control Panel" in the Windows search bar, then click Open.
STEP 2: Click on System Security, then click Windows Firewall.
STEP 3: Select Off (not recommended) then click OK.
STEP 4: Try downloading the IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) again and see if it works this time.
Checking Your Anti-Virus Settings
If disabling Windows Firewall was not successful in resolving the issue then proceed to checking your anti-virus settings (McAfee). We realize not everyone uses McAfee however, these steps should guide you through other brands of anti-virus software. For instructions, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Double-click the anti-virus icon in the system tray located at the bottom right corner of your desktop.
STEP 2: Beneath the Protection Status heading, click on the Computer & Files icon then select Configure.
STEP 3: Set everything to the Off position.
STEP 4: Click Protection Status again, then the Internet & Network icon, and then select Configure.
STEP 5: Set everything to the Off position.
STEP 6: Try downloading the IMVU Classic (IMVU Client) again and see if it works this time.
Adjusting the Internet Properties Settings
