Our content creators breathe life into the IMVU Catalog. Being a very important part of the IMVU community, we would like to make sure that their intellectual property rights are protected at all costs.

If you are a creator and your work has been plagiarized by someone else, you can file a DMCA complaint to protect your copyright. Simply follow these instructions:

1. Read this section on Copyright and Trademark Infringements to understand the DMCA process.

2. Fill out the standard DMCA template (click here for a copy).

3. Send the filled out template to DMCA_agent@imvu.com

4. If you wish, you can also send it via snail mail to the following address:

IMVU Official
Attn: DMCA Administrator
PO Box 2772
Redwood City, CA 94063

5. Upon receipt and review, our DMCA Administrator will proceed with the takedown.

Note that it is against our policy to submit a DMCA complaint for an exact copy of a product that has been derived properly from its parent. When users register for the Creator Program, they sign an agreement specifically allowing this behavior. It will not be considered a copyright violation if the owner of the parent product gets the full price for the sales of the derivation.

For more information, please review the IMVU Terms of Service. Please take note that plagiarizing another's work is a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Law.

Can you help me write my DMCA notice?

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a legal statute. As such, IMVU, Inc. cannot provide you with any legal advice.

If you are uncertain about any legal issues, it is best to obtain the services of a competent legal professional.
