If you are having issues logging into your IMVU Classic (IMVU Client), check first if you are using the correct case (capitalization) for both the avatar name and password. If this still does not work, check if you are getting the following error:
This means that there has been repeated log in attempts with the wrong password. Once this error pops up, you will not be able to log in even if you are already typing the right password. To resolve this, try logging into the IMVU Website. When you do, you will see the following banner at the top of the screen:
At the bottom, you will see a captcha:
Complete this in order to log in. Afterwards, the chat software should accept your password again.
I am still seeing "Too Many Login Attempts" What does this mean?
The error message "Too Many Login Attempts" shows when there are multiple login attempts to your account using the wrong password. This is a temporary lock-out, and you should be able to get back into your account after one hour.
