How do I change VIP Tiers?

It’s easy! There’s no need to unsubscribe from your current VIP Tier. You can choose to upgrade or downgrade at any time by simply purchasing a new VIP Tier! 


To do this, you can always check the VIP Tiers purchase page to see all four options: Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Emerald

 

What happens to my Loyalty Credits if I upgrade or downgrade my VIP status? 

If you upgrade and downgrade within 3 plans that have Loyalty Credits (Platinum, Diamond, and Emerald), the Loyalty Credits will continue as if the subscription had not been interrupted.


If you downgrade to the Gold VIP, the VIP monthly Loyalty Credits stop and you will lose your current standing with Loyalty Credits after 30 days. If you upgrade again within 30 days, the VIP Loyalty Credits will resume as if it had not been interrupted. 

 

How are Loyalty Credits calculated when you change VIP tiers? 

We calculate Loyalty Credits by prorating as needed, depending on the tier and associated upgrade or downgrade of VIP status. 

 

How does the prorating work? 

Example: If you’re subscribed to Platinum for 3 months then switch to Diamond for the next month, would that count as 4 months of Diamond?


Yes! Your new renewal date is the date you switched to Diamond. You will start getting Diamond benefits only from that moment on since you paid for Platinum for the 3 months prior. 

 

Do Loyalty Credits Have a Grace Period? 

You get 30 days from your VIP downgrade or cancellation, or any missed payment of your monthly VIP fee to resubscribe to VIP. Resubscribing within this 30-day period will retain your current standing with Loyalty Credits. 

 

How do I switch from a Mobile-based subscription to a Desktop-based one?

First you need to cancel the ongoing Mobile subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Then, you can login to Desktop and subscribe there. You can also purchase a different VIP Tier at this time.


Please Note: We are no longer offering Legacy VIP for purchase within IMVU. This means if you choose to leave Legacy VIP when you’re ready to be VIP again, you’ll only have the option of purchasing Tiered VIP (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Emerald).
